Job Description:

POSITION SUMMARY

The Senior Benefits Analyst provides advanced analytical, operational, and compliance support for Marshall Hospital’s benefits programs, with primary ownership of ACA administration, self-insured health plan invoicing, Workday benefits task administration and reconciliations, leave-of-absence reconciliation and benefits premium billing. Success in this role is defined by accurate data reporting; timely and compliant filings; and a seamless employee experience supported by dependable data and responsive service. The analyst develops and automates reporting particularly using Excel and Power Query to provide leaders with the insights they need to manage cost and quality. In addition to technical and analytical responsibilities, this role delivers excellent customer service by responding to employee inquiries and resolving help desk tickets promptly and accurately. This position serves as a key member of the Total Rewards team and a trusted partner to HRIS, Payroll, and Leave Administration departments.

POSITION QUALIFICATIONS

Education/Licensure/Certification:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business, Finance, Data Analytics, or related field; or equivalent experience required.
  • CEBS, SHRM-CP/SCP, PHR/SPHR, or ACA-related certification preferred.

Knowledge/Experience:

  • 4–6+ years of progressive benefits experience required.
  • Experience with Workday HRIS strongly preferred.
  • Experience with ticketing/workflow tools.
  • Working knowledge of ERISA, COBRA, HIPAA, HSA/FSA/HRA, QMCSO, and nondiscrimination testing.

Skills:

  • Excel mastery: advanced formulas (XLOOKUP/INDEX-MATCH), nested logic, arrays, pivot tables, Power Query and Power Pivot/Data Model; able to automate and document repeatable reporting; VBA/SQL a plus.
  • Exceptional confidentiality and judgment with PHI; strong customer service and communication skills.
  • Project management and continuous-improvement mindset; ability to manage peak workloads (OE/audits).
  • Data hygiene and reconciliation discipline with great attention to detail and documentation.
