Job Summary
Synechron is seeking a highly experienced Senior CloudOps/DevOps Engineer to lead the design, deployment, and ongoing management of scalable, secure, and highly available AWS-based infrastructure solutions. In this critical role, you will leverage your expertise in CloudOps, DevSecOps, and automation to optimize cloud environments, implement infrastructure as code, and ensure best practices in security and performance. The ideal candidate will possess extensive hands-on experience with AWS services, infrastructure automation tools, and container orchestration, contributing to the resilience, agility, and security of our enterprise cloud solutions.
Software Requirements
Required Skills:
Proficiency in AWS services: VPC, Route 53, EC2, EBS, EKS, RDS, API Gateway, Lambda, DynamoDB, ElasticCache, CloudWatch, OpenSearch, and related services
Expertise with Infrastructure as Code (IaC) using CloudFormation and Terraform
Hands-on experience with container orchestration technologies: Docker and Kubernetes (including EKS)
Configuration management using Ansible or similar tools
Scripting and automation in Python or equivalent languages
Continuous integration/delivery tools: GitLab CI, Jenkins, Azure DevOps (minimum 5+ years’ experience)
Monitoring and logging: Elastic Stack, CloudWatch, OpenSearch, AppDynamics
Deep understanding of Linux systems and network protocols
AWS Architect Associate Certification (preferred, or equivalent experience)
Experience addressing security vulnerabilities per OWASP guidelines
Preferred Skills:
AWS Certified DevOps Engineer or similar certifications
Experience with advanced monitoring solutions and automation tools
Familiarity with cloud security best practices and encryption protocols
Additional programming languages or automation frameworks
Overall Responsibilities
Design, implement, and manage scalable, resilient, and secure AWS infrastructure environments
Develop and maintain Infrastructure as Code (IaC) using CloudFormation and Terraform to automate deployments and configurations
Manage containerized environments with Docker and Kubernetes (EKS), ensuring high availability and efficient resource utilization
Implement and optimize CI/CD pipelines to accelerate application delivery and continuous improvement
Ensure security compliance by proactively addressing vulnerabilities and applying OWASP best practices
Monitor cloud systems using tools like CloudWatch, ELK, and OpenSearch to identify and resolve operational issues
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to develop and implement cloud solutions aligned with business needs and security policies
Write automation scripts for deployment, system management, and operational tasks in Python or similar languages
Perform regular system upgrades, security patches, and infrastructure improvements
Provide ongoing technical support, troubleshooting, and incident management in line with SLAs
Maintain comprehensive documentation of infrastructure, configurations, and operational procedures

10+ years of professional experience in CloudOps, DevOps, or similar roles within enterprise environments
Proven track record in designing and managing large-scale AWS infrastructure solutions
Extensive hands-on experience with AWS services and automation tools
Experience with containerization, orchestration, and CI/CD pipeline implementation
Strong knowledge of security, compliance, and vulnerability management aligned with OWASP guidelines
Previous experience working directly with clients or stakeholders at all levels of the organization
Preferred:
Background in financial services, retail banking, or regulated industry environments
Certifications such as AWS Certified DevOps Engineer, AWS Architect Associate, or equivalent
Day-to-Day Activities
Design and deploy scalable, secure, and highly available AWS environments aligned with organizational requirements
Develop, test, and maintain Infrastructure as Code (IaC) scripts for rapid provisioning and updates
Manage containerized applications and orchestrate deployment workflows using Kubernetes/EKS and Docker
Monitor system health and performance, conduct troubleshooting, and implement capacity planning measures
Continuously enhance automation pipelines to improve deployment frequency, quality, and security
Collaborate with development, security, and operations teams to integrate security best practices into CI/CD pipelines and infrastructure design
Conduct regular security assessments, vulnerability scans, and patch management procedures
Document system configurations, procedures, and best practices for ongoing knowledge sharing
Work proactively to identify potential system vulnerabilities and resolve issues before impact occurs
Contribute to planning, stand-ups, review sessions, and other Agile ceremonies
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field; higher degrees or relevant certifications preferred
AWS Architect Associate Certification or higher highly desirable
Proven experience supporting enterprise cloud solutions with a focus on security, automation, and resilience
Commitment to continuous learning and staying current with industry developments and emerging AWS services
