What you will do:
As a Senior Show Electronic Designer, you will lead the design, engineering, and delivery of complex audio and video systems for attractions, rides, and park‑wide experiences. This role is design‑centric and hands‑on—owning show electronic systems from early creative concept (“blue sky”) through installation, commissioning, and turnover.
You will translate creative intent into robust, buildable electronic designs, making critical technical decisions that directly shape the guest experience.
Design end‑to‑end audio and video systems for attractions, ride systems, and resort‑wide applications—from concept definition through final commissioning
Partner closely with creative, media, acoustics, controls, ride, and facilities teams to ensure design intent is accurately captured and executed
Lead system architecture, equipment selection, infrastructure sizing, and interface definition for complex A/V systems
Produce, review, and approve design drawings, layouts, specifications, and test plans for show electronic systems
Guide vendors through the design and fabrication process; resolve technical issues and manage system interfaces
Oversee installation, testing, and “test & adjust,” ensuring performance meets creative, technical, and operational requirements
Provide hands‑on troubleshooting support during prototyping, first‑article builds, and field installation
Own technical risk assessment and communicate issues and mitigation strategies to leadership
Manage design scope, schedules, and budgets related to show electronic deliverables
Ensure compliance with department standards, industry codes, and safety requirements
Required Qualifications & Skills:
10+ years of experience designing and delivering professional audio and video systems
Strong background in A/V system design, integration, and installation for complex environments
Proficiency in AutoCAD; working knowledge of Revit or willingness to learn
Experience developing technical specifications, procurement documents, and design packages
Solid understanding of networked audio/video systems, distributed show control, and park‑wide architectures
Knowledge of industry standards and codes (UL, NEC, NFPA)
Proven ability to communicate technical concepts clearly and collaborate across disciplines
Preferred Qualifications & Skills:
Hands‑on field experience with installation, commissioning, and troubleshooting
Experience scripting or configuring audio control systems (Alcorn V16, Peavey NION, QSC Q‑SYS)
On‑board or ride‑based audio systems design and commissioning experience
Industry certifications (QSC, Audinate, Avixa, Cisco, BICSI)
Ability to work independently while incorporating team input and adapting to evolving creative requirements
Willingness to travel or relocate for extended project assignments (6–12 months)
Education:
Associate’s degree in Engineering Technology or a related field preferred, but not required
