Lloyd’s are seeking to recruit a Senior Associate (Syndicate Capability Risk). You will contribute to the delivery of independent second‑line assurance over Lloyd’s Principles‑Based Oversight (PBO) framework by supporting reviews, analysis and insight into how oversight activities manage risk and achieve regulatory objectives. The Senior Associate provides analytical depth, supports assurance delivery, contributes to governance outputs, and strengthens risk insights for management and committees.
Principal Accountabilities
Assurance Delivery
Support delivery of assurance reviews over PBO principles, controls and oversight practices.
Contribute to thematic reviews and assessments within the multi‑year assurance plan.
Assist in evaluating the design and effectiveness of oversight processes and controls, preparing clear, concise analysis and early-stage findings.
Support development and maintenance of oversight documentation, working papers and evidence logs.
Track remediation actions arising from reviews, ensuring updates are accurate and timely.
Risk Analysis & Insight
Conduct analysis to identify patterns, weaknesses and emerging risks in first‑line oversight. Contribute inputs to risk assessments for the annual Market Oversight Plan.
Draft sections of assurance reports, governance papers and committee materials.
Assist in synthesising review outcomes into forward‑looking observations and insights that support oversight effectiveness.
Stakeholder Engagement
Engage professionally with first‑line oversight functions and colleagues across the Corporation.
Support the Senior Manager in coordinating review scoping sessions, walkthroughs and clarification meetings.
Act as a constructive and credible challenger, raising issues with clarity and fairness.
Build effective working relationships across first‑ and second‑line teams to support collaborative oversight.
Continuous Improvement
Contribute to the development of assurance methodologies, tools and templates.
Support enhancements to oversight processes by identifying opportunities for improved consistency, transparency or efficiency.
Maintain strong documentation, reporting and quality‑assurance discipline in all work.
Skills Knowledge and Experience
Experience in insurance, reinsurance or the London Market desirable (not essential)
Exposure to regulatory, supervisory, enterprise risk or control environments
Understanding of risk management principles and framework
Familiarity with principles‑based regulation and supervision models.
Experience in risk management, internal audit, assurance, or regulatory oversight. [
Analytical skills with the ability to assess governance, control environments and oversight practices.
Ability to produce high‑quality written output, presenting complex judgement clearly and concisely.
Stakeholder engagement capabilities; able to challenge constructively and build effective working relationships.
Ability to prioritise effectively, work independently and operate in ambiguity.
Good organisational discipline, including documentation, evidence management and quality assurance.
Professional qualification (or progress towards one) in risk, audit, actuarial, accounting, or legal is desirable but not required
