About the Job
The Cell Line and Vector Development team within Sanofi's Genomic Medicine Unit is responsible for developing and optimizing cell lines and viral vectors for gene therapy applications. Our team works with cutting-edge technologies to support the development of advanced medicinal therapy products (ATMPs) including viral vectors, plasmids, and genetically modified cells. We are seeking an experienced Senior Associate Scientist to join our Cell Line and Vector Development team with a focus on advanced process development for our viral vector cell line development platform. Additionally, the successful candidate will support implementation and optimization of automated processes for cell line development and vector production, while providing technical leadership and mentorship to junior team members. This role requires a self-directed individual capable of driving projects independently and contributing to strategic planning initiatives.

Main Responsibilities:
Develop and execute comprehensive experimental plans with minimal supervision.
Lead process optimization initiatives to improve efficiency, scalability, and product quality.
Lead the design, implementation, and optimization of automated workflows for cell line development and vector production.
Drive advanced troubleshooting of complex automated laboratory equipment and processes.
Independently manage multiple projects simultaneously with competing priorities.
Present technical recommendations to senior leadership.
Maintain comprehensive documentation and data integrity standards.
Mentor and train junior scientists, co-ops, and new team members.
Provide technical guidance and knowledge transfer to colleagues.
Foster a collaborative environment that promotes scientific excellence.
Author technical reports, protocols, and standard operating procedures.
Present findings at internal meetings and to external stakeholders.
About You
Qualifications Required:
Bachelor's degree in Biotechnology, Bioengineering, Molecular Biology, Chemical Engineering, or related field with minimum 2+ years of relevant industry experience, OR Master's degree with minimum 1+ years of experience.
Demonstrated expertise in cell culture techniques, transfection, and vector production.
Understanding of gene therapy viral vectors and manufacturing processes.
Advanced analytical and problem-solving skills with ability to troubleshoot complex issues.
Excellent organizational skills.
Strong written and verbal communication skills.
Proficiency with data analysis software and statistical methods.
Demonstrated ability to work independently and make technical decisions.
Preferred:
Previous experience in gene therapy or cell therapy development.
Experience with automated cell culture systems (e.g., Hamilton, Tecan, Beckman).
Proven experience with laboratory automation systems and liquid handling platforms.
Knowledge of viral vector characterization and analytical methods.

The salary range for this position is:
$73.500,00 - $106.166,66All compensation will be determined commensurate with demonstrated experience. Employees may be eligible to participate in Company employee benefit programs. Additional benefits information can be found through the LINK.
