About the Team
We are a detail-oriented, hard-working team within the Adaptive Planning Customer Success organization, driving crucial financial outcomes and customer retention (specifically minimizing churn) for Workday's global Adaptive Planning portfolio. The team promotes Workday's core values with a strong dedication to our employees and operates as a critical link between Sales, Finance, and Legal. This position supports global customers and reports to the Manager, Renewal Manager based in Costa Rica.About the Role
Workday is seeking a versatile Senior Associate Renewal Manager to join the Adaptive Planning Customer Success team. This role is a strategic execution position, acting as a trusted, high-efficiency advisor to Adaptive Planning Sales and Customer Success teams. The role requires an individual who is analytical, possesses exceptional organizational skills, and excels at managing a high-velocity workflow in a fast-paced environment.
As a Senior Associate Renewal Manager, you will be responsible for owning the renewal cycle for a designated high-volume segment of the global planning account portfolio.
Key Responsibilities:
Renewal Execution: Execute the end-to-end renewal process for approximately 250 Adaptive Planning accounts globally, ensuring on-time closure and minimizing financial attrition (reducing product churn).
Quoting and Documentation: Prepare detailed renewal quotes, perform deal calculations (using CPQ/quoting tools and supplementary spreadsheets), and manage the modification of commercial contract documents.
Negotiation Support: Conduct negotiations on standard renewal facets to maximize contract value and maintain a positive customer relationship, working closely with Customer Success Managers.
Process & Forecast Adherence: Assist in maintaining accurate forecasting and reporting on renewal status and ensure consistent and timely progression of renewal opportunities through defined sales stages.
Risk & Mitigation: Flag potential risk accounts to senior team members for mitigation strategies.
Cross-Functional Facilitation: Serve as the primary liaison between Sales, Customer Success, Legal, Finance, and Deal Operations to resolve commercial roadblocks and ensure seamless deal flow.
Compliance: Follow and adhere to all internal best practices for Opportunity Management, Data Quality, and Quotation accuracy.
Work in a flex model environment (50% in office/50% remote) each fiscal quarter.
About You
Basic Qualifications:
2+ years of demonstrated success working in Sales Operations, Deal Management, or Renewal Management within a B2B environment, preferably in SaaS companies.
Proven experience handling a high-volume portfolio of customer accounts or transactions.
Fluent in English
Other Qualifications:
Bachelor's Degree or equivalent experience in Business, Finance, or a related field.
Strong proficiency with Salesforce and CPQ/Apttus tools.
Advanced ability to manipulate data and formulas in Microsoft Excel and/or Google Sheets.
Experience responding to contract edits, AKA "red lines," and managing basic commercial negotiations.
Technology Adoption: Familiarity with leveraging automation or AI-powered tools to enhance commercial workflows and reporting efficiency.
Experience in the SaaS industry, preferably with planning/enterprise software.
Excellent interpersonal and written communication skills to articulate commercial terms clearly and negotiate with renewing customers.
Comfortable investigating and finding solutions to complex sales proposals and contract challenges.
Ability to quickly prioritize a high volume of work and execute tasks efficiently under tight deadlines.
Self-Driven: Demonstrated ability to be self-driven, autonomous, and take ownership of a large, complex portfolio.
Strong analytical skills with a detail-oriented and process-minded approach.
