The Senior Associate, Medicaid role supports the development and execution of marketing strategies and campaigns designed to drive member engagement and improve health outcomes for Medicaid populations. This role partners closely with cross‑functional teams to translate strategy into actionable marketing programs within a highly regulated, fast‑paced environment.

Reporting to the Director of Medicaid and Specialty Marketing, this position sits within the Marketing Organization, part of Humana’s broader Enterprise Growth team. The Senior Associate, Medicaid plays a key role in developing and executing member engagement campaigns across Humana’s Medicaid portfolio, working closely with Market Presidents, Consumer Insights and Analytics, Lifecycle Marketing, Marketing Operations, and Marketing Data & Technology partners. This role is well‑suited for a senior marketing professional with a strong understanding of Medicaid programs who is ready to take ownership of campaigns and contribute to meaningful, member‑focused impact.

  • Support the development and execution of product marketing and member engagement strategies for Humana's Medicaid and Healthy Horizons offerings.
  • Partner with Product, Brand, Compliance, Community Engagement, and other stakeholders to ensure messaging is accurate, compliant, culturally appropriate, and member‑centric.
  • Translate marketing strategies into clear, accessible member‑facing materials and digital content tailored to Medicaid audiences.
  • Coordinate with internal partners to deliver campaigns on time and aligned to business and market needs.
  • Monitor campaign performance and member engagement metrics, identifying insights to inform ongoing optimization and improvements.
  • Stay informed on Medicaid regulations, policy updates, and market dynamics to ensure marketing activities remain compliant and relevant.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Public Health, Communications, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
  • 4+ years of progressive experience in healthcare marketing, with demonstrated experience supporting Medicaid, Medicare, or other government‑sponsored programs.
  • Working knowledge of Medicaid regulations, CMS guidelines, and compliance requirements, with the ability to apply them to marketing and member communications.
  • Demonstrated experience developing and executing member engagement campaigns or initiatives within a regulated environment.
  • Proven ability to collaborate cross‑functionally with Product, Compliance, Legal, Brand, and Community Engagement teams to deliver compliant, member‑centric marketing.
  • Experience creating member‑facing materials and digital content tailored to underserved or diverse populations, with a focus on clarity and accessibility.
  • Strong project management skills, including the ability to manage multiple priorities, timelines, and stakeholders simultaneously.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Master's degree in Marketing, Communications, Business Administration, Public Health, or Healthcare Administration.
  • Experience working with state Medicaid agencies, managed care organizations (MCOs), or the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS).
  • Background in multicultural marketing, health literacy, community outreach, or social impact marketing.
  • Preferred locations: Arlington, VA; Louisville, KY; Atlanta, GA; Boston, MA; Chicago, IL; New York, NY; Tampa, FL; Nashville, TN; Dallas, TX; Seattle, WA; Denver, CO; and Fort Lauderdale, FL.
  • The associate selected for this role should anticipate periodic in‑office work to support collaboration, key team meetings, and leadership engagement. Remote options will be considered based on role needs and candidate experience.

Travel: While this is a remote position, occasional travel to Humana's offices for training or meetings may be required.

Pay Range

The compensation range below reflects a good faith estimate of starting base pay for full time (40 hours per week) employment at the time of posting. The pay range may be higher or lower based on geographic location and individual pay will vary based on demonstrated job related skills, knowledge, experience, education, certifications, etc.


 

$94,900 - $130,500 per year


 

This job is eligible for a bonus incentive plan. This incentive opportunity is based upon company and/or individual performance.
