Senior Associate, M&A Integration
Overview
The Senior Associate, M&A Integration role is a critical member of the team responsible for supporting all phases of mergers and acquisitions, with a strong emphasis on post‑close integration and deal execution. This role is designed for a candidate with direct exposure to M&A transactions and integration workstreams, not purely administrative or support roles.
The individual will be part of a highly visible, cross‑functional team, partnering closely with business and functional leaders to translate deal strategy into executable integration plans and to help drive value realization. The role is based out of our corporate HQ in Purchase, NY and reports directly to the VP, M&A Integration and offers meaningful exposure to senior leadership.
Role & Responsibilities
* Support all phases of acquisition integration, including integration strategy development, detailed planning, execution, performance management, and value realization
* Actively partner with Business and Functional teams to develop, refine, and execute integration plans, ensuring alignment with deal rationale and synergy objectives
* Support integration governance and execution management, including milestone tracking, risk identification, and issue escalation
* Support the identification, approval, and tracking of integration costs and synergies, ensuring disciplined financial management post‑close
* Support the quarterly M&A scorecard review process, including drafting executive‑level materials, tracking KPIs, and synthesizing insights in partnership with business leaders
* Contribute to continuous improvement of the M&A integration framework, including process enhancements and playbooks to improve deal outcomes over time
* Provide analytical and execution support across multiple integrations simultaneously, often in fast‑moving and ambiguous environments
All About You
* Bachelor’s degree required
* Prior experience supporting M&A transactions and/or post‑merger integrations, with demonstrated exposure to deal execution, integration planning, or value capture activities
* Self‑starter with a high degree of motivation and a strong bias for action; able to take ownership and drive work forward with limited direction
* Comfortable operating in ambiguous, fast‑changing environments, with the ability to structure complex problems and develop practical solutions
* Strong strategic thinking and problem‑solving skills, with the ability to connect integration activities back to deal objectives
* Strong process and project management capabilities; highly organized, structured, and detail‑oriented
* Proven ability to work cross‑functionally and influence without authority; collaborative, diplomatic, and flexible
* Strong interpersonal presence with the ability to clearly communicate compelling, executive‑ready messages to business and functional partners
* Ability to understand and navigate cultural differences to drive change and stakeholder engagement across the organization
* Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including executive‑level presentations
* Proficient in Microsoft Office products (Excel, PowerPoint, Word)

In line with Mastercard’s total compensation philosophy and assuming that the job will be performed in the US, the successful candidate will be offered a competitive base salary and may be eligible for an annual bonus or commissions depending on the role. The base salary offered may vary depending on multiple factors, including but not limited to location, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience.
