The Senior Associate II – Site Finance supports the Site Finance Lead and Site Operations Lead in ensuring accurate financial reporting, strong compliance, and effective financial support to VMRD India site operations. This role is responsible for executing core controllership activities, supporting asset and capital accounting, maintaining statutory and tax compliance, and providing reliable financial data and insights to enable operational and leadership decision‑making. The position plays a key role in month‑end close, audit readiness, capital spend tracking, and site finance operations while adhering to Zoetis global finance, governance, and control standards. The scope of responsibility is site/country‑level, with close collaboration across Zoetis Financial Services (ZFS), Corporate Finance, and cross‑functional site teams.
POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES:

Financial Reporting, Close & Compliance (40%)
- Support monthly, quarterly, and annual US GAAP financial close activities for the VMRD India site, including preparation of accruals, journal entries, account reconciliations, and balance sheet substantiation in SAP.
- Ensure timely and accurate accounting entries in compliance with SOX and Zoetis internal control requirements.
- Act as the primary finance contact for statutory audits, internal audits, IFC audits, and corporate reviews, coordinating seamlessly with Zoetis Financial Services (ZFS) and corporate finance.
- Manage GST compliance, including return filings, documentation, refunds, assessments, and audit support.
- Partner with Treasury on funding entries, bank-related accounting, LC/BG compliance, and chargeback accounting.
- Support preparation of annual operating plan, forecasts, and periodic budget revisions covering R&D operations and site infrastructure costs.
Asset Management & Site Finance Operations: 25%
- Own end‑to‑end fixed asset and capital accounting, including WBS creation, CWIP tracking, capitalization, depreciation, transfers, and disposals.
- Prepare and analyze monthly capital spend vs. budget reports, highlighting variances, risks, or delays for review by the Site Finance Lead.
- Coordinate physical verification, asset tagging, and reconciliation with fixed asset registers.
- Ensure timely processing of critical vendor invoices and milestone-based payments through ZFS.
- Support compliance with site specific statutory and regulatory requirements, including MSME, NSS data reporting, insurance renewals, and CA certifications for LCs/BGs.
- Partner closely with the Site Operations, Engineering, Projects, and Procurement teams to support effective procure‑to‑pay, capital execution, and asset lifecycle processes with a strong focus on financial discipline, controls, scalability.
- Assist in documenting existing site processes and support process simplification, standardization, and automation initiatives led by the Site Finance Lead / Operations Lead.
- Actively support the design and implementation of robust systems and controls within SAP and related financial systems to improve data accuracy, timeliness, and decision‑readiness.
- Enable stronger cross‑functional collaboration by translating operational activities into clear financial impact, metrics, and KPIs for site leadership.
- Support change management initiatives related to new processes, system enhancements, or site expansions, including training of site teams on financial and control implications.
- Continuously monitor process effectiveness through data analysis, control testing, and operational metrics, recommending corrective actions to strengthen execution and compliance
Data Analytics & Financial Insights for Decision-Making: 15%
- Prepare site‑level MIS packs, financial dashboards, and routine management reports for VMRD leadership.
- Analyze cost trends, budget variances, asset utilization, and spend efficiency, escalating insights and observations to the Site Finance Lead.
- Support development of financial models and analyses using Excel, SAP reports, and Power BI under guidance.
- Provide analytical support for scenario analysis, business cases, and ROI assessments for strategic initiatives and capital investments.
- Enable informed decision‑making by ensuring accuracy, consistency, and clarity of financial data.
Major Capital Project Finance & Infrastructure Delivery: 15%
- Support financial tracking for major site infrastructure and capital projects, including budget tracking, milestone monitoring, and cost analysis.
- Prepare project financial reports and assist in monitoring performance against approved AFE or business cases.
- Ensure accurate capitalization, CWIP clearance, and audit readiness upon project completion.
- Partner closely with Engineering, Projects, Procurement, and Global teams to ensure timely and compliant financial delivery of capital programs.
ORGANIZATIONAL RELATIONSHIPS
Zoetis VMRD Finance:
- Follow Zoetis policies and procedures for Statutory/internal audits, financial reporting, and compliance oversight
- Evaluate and authorize site expenditures, ensuring alignment with VMRD leadership and financial guidelines
VMRD Leadership and Site Operations Team
- Support VMRD leadership and operations team on all financial matters, including budgeting, cost management, and performance tracking.
- Provide financial insights and recommendations to optimize business decisions and improve performance metrics.
Shared Financial Services (ZFS): Work closely with the following teams for efficient reporting
- Accounts Payable (AP) - Vendor invoice processing, approvals, payment execution
- General Ledger (GL) Accounting - Journal entries, reconciliations, month-end close
- Expense Management - Employee reimbursements, travel & expense (T&E) processing
- Fixed Assets Accounting - Asset tracking, depreciation, disposals
- Audit - Transactional support for statutory and internal audits

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
Education (Required / Preferred):
- Chartered Accountant (CA – Inter / Finalist) or Cost & Management Accountant (CMA – Inter / Final) or MBA / PGDM (Finance, Operations, or Project Finance)
- Project Management Professional (PMP) certification – Preferred
Experience:
- 6–10 years of progressive experience in finance, controllership, accounting or finance business partnering roles, preferably within multinational pharmaceutical, life sciences, R&D, or manufacturing environments
- Demonstrated hands‑on experience in:
- US GAAP reporting, monthly close, balance sheet governance, and internal controls (SOX / IFC)
- Fixed asset accounting, CWIP management, capital spend tracking, and capitalization of large infrastructure projects
- Financial support for capital projects, including budget control, milestone‑based spend tracking, and audit readiness
- Strong exposure to statutory audits, internal audits, and indirect tax (GST) compliance in India
- Experience working with shared service models (e.g., ZFS or equivalent) for AP, GL, fixed assets, and audits
- Proven capability in data analytics and financial insight generation, including:
- Advanced Excel modeling and variance analysis
- Development of MIS, dashboards, and management reports (Power BI experience strongly preferred)
- Prior experience in partnering with engineering, procurement, site operations, and project teams to support infrastructure or capital expansion initiatives is highly desirable
