The Senior Associate – Hybrid Cloud Infrastructure position is a hands-on, client-facing role focused on supporting and troubleshooting existing on‑premises and hybrid infrastructure environments. This role works directly with client IT teams to diagnose, stabilize, and optimize deployments involving VMware, Hyper‑V, Active Directory, DNS, Certificate Authorities, and enterprise storage platforms such as NetApp. The Senior Associate contributes to assessments, remediation efforts, and targeted modernization initiatives within established client environments.

Key Responsibilities

  • Troubleshoot and resolve issues across VMware vSphere and Microsoft Hyper‑V environments, including host, cluster, storage, and virtual machine performance problems.
  • Assist with net-new deployments and migrations of VMware, Hyper-V, Nutanix and Scale Computing clusters
  • Administer and support Active Directory services (AD DS, DNS, Group Policy, replication, authentication issues).
  • Support and troubleshoot Microsoft Certificate Authorities / PKI, including certificate issuance, renewals, trust issues, and application-related certificate failures.
  • Diagnose and remediate storage-related issues involving NetApp and other SAN/NAS platforms, including performance, capacity, and virtualization integration.
  • Support Veeam environments, addressing backup failures, repository issues, job configuration problems, and restore testing.
  • Assist with infrastructure assessments and remediation efforts, documenting findings and recommended improvements.
  • Execute upgrades, fixes, and configuration changes under the guidance of senior engineers or project leads.
  • Produce clear, client-ready technical documentation and findings summaries.

Required Qualifications

  • 3+ years of experience in infrastructure engineering, systems administration, or technical consulting.
  • Hands-on experience supporting:
    • VMware vSphere and/or Microsoft Hyper‑V
    • Active Directory, DNS, and Group Policy
    • Certificate Authorities / PKI
    • Veeam Backup & Replication
  • Working knowledge of enterprise storage platforms (NetApp experience preferred).
  • Strong troubleshooting and root-cause analysis skills across identity, virtualization, and storage layers.
  • Ability to communicate technical issues and solutions clearly to clients.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Management Information Systems, or a related field OR an Associate’s degree (AA/AS) with equivalent practical experience.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Certifications in one or more relevant technologies, such as Microsoft, VMware, Veeam, or NetApp.
  • Experience supporting multi-site or hybrid environments.
  • Experience working with PowerShell to automate deployment and administrative tasks
  • Prior consulting or professional services experience.

Office & Client Onsite Expectations

  • This role follows a hybrid work model, with an expectation to work from an RSM office a minimum of two (2) days per week.
  • The Senior Associate is expected to travel onsite to client locations as needed to support infrastructure deployments, troubleshooting, and hands-on technical work.
  • Client travel will vary based on project requirements and may include short, regional engagements as well as occasional extended onsite support during critical implementation or remediation activities.
  • Flexibility to support client needs during scheduled maintenance windows or high-impact incidents is expected.

At RSM, an employee’s pay at any point in their career is intended to reflect their experiences, performance, and skills for their current role. The salary range (or starting rate for interns and associates) for this role represents numerous factors considered in the hiring decisions including, but not limited to, education, skills, work experience, certifications, location, etc. As such, pay for the successful candidate(s) could fall anywhere within the stated range.

Compensation Range: $88,900 - $168,300

Individuals selected for this role will be eligible for a discretionary bonus based on firm and individual performance.
