The Role

We are looking for a Senior Associate, Enterprise Risk to support the development, operation, and ongoing evolution of Lloyd’s global risk framework.

This role plays a key part in ensuring that Lloyd’s key risks are well understood, effectively managed, and remain within risk appetite. You will work closely with colleagues across the Corporation, contributing to enterprise‑wide risk processes, reporting, and governance, while supporting a strong and proactive risk culture.

Key Responsibilities

Risk Strategy & Culture

  • Support the delivery and ongoing monitoring of Lloyd’s annual risk management and coordinated assurance plans

  • Contribute to strengthening and embedding an effective risk culture across the organisation

  • Provide agile support on ad‑hoc projects and requests from the Head of Enterprise Risk Management and Enterprise Risk Manager

Risk Framework, Processes & Systems

  • Support the development and operation of Lloyd’s global risk framework, including:

    • Risk and Control Self‑Assessments (RCSAs)

    • Key and Material Controls

    • Emerging risk identification and reporting

    • Risk culture, awareness, and engagement activities

  • Contribute to the risk appetite framework, including regular reporting to senior management

  • Support the annual ORSA process

  • Help develop and maintain risk management systems and reporting tools

  • Produce timely, accurate, and insightful risk management reports using risk systems and data

Reporting & Governance

  • Produce high‑quality routine and ad‑hoc reporting for Lloyd’s risk committees

  • Prepare materials for internal stakeholders (e.g. risk digests), external stakeholders (including rating agencies), and regulators

  • Build and maintain strong, collaborative relationships across Corporation departments

Skills, Knowledge & Experience

Skills

  • Strong understanding of enterprise risk management practices and frameworks

  • Excellent analytical skills, with the ability to communicate complex risk topics clearly to both technical and non‑technical audiences

  • Confident stakeholder management skills, including the ability to challenge constructively and influence outcomes

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills

  • Highly organised, with the ability to manage competing priorities and work effectively under pressure

  • Resilient and comfortable operating under scrutiny

Knowledge

  • Solid knowledge of enterprise risk management frameworks and processes

  • Good understanding of the insurance industry and the Lloyd’s market

Experience

  • Experience working within a high‑performing risk, audit, or control environment

  • Proven experience engaging with and managing senior stakeholders, including challenging situations

  • Hands‑on experience with risk frameworks, tools, and reporting processes
