The Senior Assistant Manager, IT Operations is responsible for overseeing the planning, implementation, and maintenance of IT infrastructure within the centre’s operation, including servers, networks and GPU resources. The role ensures secure, efficient, and scalable systems to support research and administrative functions. This position work closely with PI, researchers and technical vendors to deliver responsive, reliable and future-ready IT solutions.
Key Responsibilities:
• Manage and maintain the centre’s IT infrastructure, including servers, networks, and GPU systems.
• Plan and allocate GPU and storage resources to meet project and researcher needs.
• Provide technical support for research software, system and digital tools for research activities.
• Evaluate and recommend IT solutions, tools and services to enhance research output efficiency.
• Manage IT procurement processes, including vendor coordination and budget tracking.
• Maintain IT documentation, track system usage, and prepare performance reports for management review.
Job Requirements:
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Electronics Engineering or equivalent. Preferably system administration experience, cloud and distributed computing.
• Minimum of 5 years of experience in IT Operations, Infrastructure Management, or System Administration.
• Experience managing servers, networks, and GPU cluster-based environment.
• Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
• Experience with vendor management and IT procurement related matters.
• Ability to manage multiple tasks and stakeholders in a dynamic research environment.
• Good communication and collaboration skills, especially in technical and research aspect.
