The Red Hat North America Financial Services Consulting team is looking for an experienced Senior Architect specializing in Red Hat Ansible Automation Platform (AAP).
In this customer-facing role, you will act as a trusted advisor to some of the largest banks, insurance companies, and capital markets firms worldwide, driving the adoption of enterprise-grade automation built on Ansible. You will work remotely and on-site to design, deliver, and operationalize resilient, secure, and reusable automation solutions that solve real business problems in highly regulated environments.
What you will do:
Lead the architecture, design, and delivery of complex Ansible Automation Platform solutions for Financial Services customers
Translate regulatory, risk, availability, and operational requirements into scalable, secure, and reusable automation frameworks, playbooks, roles, and collections
Serve as the primary technical point of contact and trusted advisor on automation strategy for assigned accounts
Conduct scoping / pre-sales calls, discovery workshops, maturity assessments, and proof-of-concept engagements to identify and prioritize automation opportunities
Build and deliver production-grade playbooks and content for infrastructure provisioning, configuration management, application deployment, compliance as code, security orchestration, and Day-2 operations
Integrate AAP with customer ecosystems: public clouds (AWS, Azure, GCP), VMware, network devices, ITSM (especially ServiceNow), CMDBs, identity systems, and secret management
Troubleshoot complex, multi-system automation issues in production environments
Mentor customer teams and junior Red Hat consultants on Ansible best practices, GitOps, Event-Driven Ansible, and DevOps culture
Contribute reusable assets (roles, collections, reference architectures) to Red Hat’s internal knowledge base and the broader Ansible community
Maintain deep expertise in the AAP portfolio and stay current on new features (Automation Controller, Execution Environments, Private Automation Hub, Content Collections, Lightspeed, Event-Driven Ansible, etc.)
Obtain and maintain at least two relevant active Red Hat certifications (e.g., RHCE, Ansible Automation, Advanced Automation, OpenShift, etc.)
What you will bring:
7+ years of hands-on enterprise IT experience in infrastructure, operations, or development
5+ years of deep production experience with Red Hat Ansible or upstream Ansible (writing complex playbooks, roles, custom modules, and collections)
Proven track record designing and delivering enterprise automation solutions in large, regulated environments
Strong experience with at least two legacy configuration management tools (Puppet, Chef, SaltStack, or PowerShell DSC) – migration experience is a significant advantage
Proficiency in Python, YAML, Bash, and infrastructure-as-code practices
Solid understanding of modern DevOps tooling and practices (Git, CI/CD pipelines, Jenkins/GitLab CI/GitHub Actions/Tekton, ArgoCD, etc.)
Hands-on experience integrating automation with major public clouds (AWS, Azure, GCP) and virtualization platforms
Working knowledge of IT security and compliance fundamentals (CIS benchmarks, DISA STIGs, PCI-DSS, FFIEC, etc.)
Excellent communication and presentation skills – comfortable engaging both engineers and C-level executives
Demonstrated consulting delivery experience (scoping, workshop facilitation, statement-of-work creation, project execution)
Nice to have:
Active Red Hat Certified Specialist in Ansible Automation or Red Hat Certified Architect (RHCA)
Financial Services industry experience (banking, capital markets, insurance) – highly desirable
Experience with Event-Driven Ansible, Ansible Lightspeed, or writing custom AAP execution environments
Proven large-scale migrations from Puppet/Chef/SaltStack to Ansible Automation Platform
Network automation experience (Cisco ACI, Arista, Juniper, F5, etc.)
Integration of Ansible with ServiceNow (or other ITSM) for closed-loop remediation and CMDB synchronization
Automation of Red Hat OpenShift or Kubernetes Day-2 operations
Familiarity with secret management (HashiCorp Vault, CyberArk, AWS Secrets Manager) and identity federation
