Senior Applications Administrator - ServiceNow CMDB

Position Purpose: Ensures the accuracy, reliability, and operational health of the organization's ServiceNow CMDB and related ITIL processes. This role is equally balanced between technical administration of the ServiceNow CMDB, Discovery, and Integrations, and ITIL-driven governance, configuration management, best practices, and process enablement.

  • Owns and optimizes the ServiceNow CMDB, including data models, governance, discovery, integrations, and platform support aligned to ITIL v4/CSDM

  • Ensures CMDB data quality, reliability, and audit readiness through monitoring, reporting, troubleshooting, and continuous improvement

  • Partners with ITSM, infrastructure, application, asset, and security teams to support impact analysis, root cause analysis, and dependency mapping

  • Leads cross‑functional collaboration, mentor CMDB resources, and maintain documentation, standards, and roadmap initiatives

  • Contributes to the achievement of strategic goals through the implementation of application support programs to improve business performance

  • Advises on application security, upgrades, backups, and disaster recovery needs

  • Prioritizes, investigates and diagnoses incidents and problems

  • Assists with the implementation of agreed remedies and preventative measures and contributes to the development of strategies, policies, standards, procedures and tools

  • Plans and agrees on the scope of configuration management processes and the configuration items

  • Leads the assessment, analysis, planning and design of release packages including assessment of risk

  • Manages and monitors application and compliance of security administration procedures

  • Performs other duties as assigned

  • Complies with all policies and standards

Education/Experience: A Bachelor's degree in a quantitative or business field (e.g., statistics, mathematics, engineering, computer science) and requires 4 – 6 years of related experience.
Or equivalent experience acquired through accomplishments of applicable knowledge, duties, scope and skill reflective of the level of this position.
Master's Degree preferred.

Technical Skills:

  • Required:

  • 5+ years supporting ServiceNow in an enterprise environment, including CMDB administration

  • Strong knowledge of ServiceNow CMDB, Discovery, and integration principles.

  • Practical understanding of CSDM (Common Service Data Model) and how it supports ITSM/ITOM

  • Experience administering integration workflows, MID Servers, APIs, and ETL pipelines

  • Solid understanding of IT infrastructure components (servers, networks, cloud, containers)

  • Familiarity with: Transform maps, Script includes, Business rules, Scheduled jobs, Flow Designer

  • Strong analytical skills and experience troubleshooting CI data accuracy and reconciliation issues

  • Desired:

  • ServiceNow CSA (Certified System Administrator)

  • Additional ServiceNow certifications: Discovery, ITOM Fundamentals, CMDB, or IntegrationHub

  • ITIL v3/v4 Foundation certification; advanced modules a plus

  • Experience with hybrid or cloud environments (AWS, Azure, Kubernetes)

  • Scripting experience (JavaScript for ServiceNow, PowerShell, or Python)

Pay Range: $87,000.00 - $161,300.00 per year

Centene offers a comprehensive benefits package including: competitive pay, health insurance, 401K and stock purchase plans, tuition reimbursement, paid time off plus holidays, and a flexible approach to work with remote, hybrid, field or office work schedules.  Actual pay will be adjusted based on an individual's skills, experience, education, and other job-related factors permitted by law, including full-time or part-time status.  Total compensation may also include additional forms of incentives. Benefits may be subject to program eligibility.
