Senior Analytical ChemistJob Description:
• Prepare and conduct chemical and/or physical analyses as defined by existing work instructions on routine and non-routine samples using analytical instruments including: ICP-MS, ICP-OES, GC, GC/MS, HPLC, IC, XRF, UV-Vis, NIR, KF, etc.
• Use SPC principles to verify quality of data, recognize and address data trends.
• Document, process, transfer, and review analytical data to ensure completion, conformity, traceability, and validity and support production and other internal/external customer needs; Take corrective action when necessary.
• Maintain instrumentation, tools, chemicals, and consumables required for product testing purposes.
• Effectively troubleshoot instruments and resolve any hardware or software issues.
• Verify the efficacy of samples and ensure that all samples and chemicals are properly stored or disposed.
• Lead projects and efforts to foster continuous improvement of new or existing testing methods and practices.
• Assist in ensuring proper Laboratory cleanliness to support high quality trace-level data.
• Compile and present data and presentations to communicate data and other relevant information for continuous improvement, method development/validation, and other projects.
• Assist management team with data investigations, and secondary data review as needed.
• Assist management with internal and external audits.
• Work on cross-functional teams as the analytical subject matter expert
• Train other personnel to analyze samples or perform other laboratory tasks.
• Follow and improve safety guidelines and maintain a clean and orderly environment (5S Guidelines)
Requirements:
Bachelor's Degree in Analytical Chemistry, Chemistry, or related field and 5 years of progressive post bachelor’s experience as an Analytical Chemist in a manufacturing or testing environment.
Must have 5 years of experience:
•in operating, troubleshooting, and maintaining analytical instrumentation including: ICP-MS, ICP-OES, GC, GC/MS, HPLC, IC, XRF, UV-Vis, NIR, KF, spectroscopy;
•Advanced computer knowledge, including MS Office;
•proper safe handling/disposal of chemicals; and
•operating electrical and nonelectrical laboratory equipment.
