Overview
The Data Management team is looking for a Senior Analyst - Technical (Data Quality Analyst)-2 to drive our customer experience strategy forward by consistently innovating and problem-solving. The ideal candidate will define and operationalize robust data quality frameworks, collaborate with cross functional teams, and lead initiatives that elevate Mastercard’s data governance maturity. This position requires a hands-on data expert who is equally comfortable analyzing complex datasets and driving strategic process improvements across the organization
Role
Establish and maintain robust data quality rules, standards, processes, and KPIs to monitor and improve the health of Mastercard’s enterprise data assets.
Conduct comprehensive data profiling and analysis to identify inconsistencies, anomalies, duplicates, and data gaps across systems.
Collaborate with data stewards, engineering teams, and business stakeholders to investigate data issues and resolve root causes at the source.
Design and maintain data quality dashboards, scorecards, and reporting tools to provide clear visibility into quality trends and performance improvements.
Lead root cause analysis (RCA) for recurring or complex data issues and drive recommendations for enhancements across processes, systems, and data pipelines.
Champion and enforce best practices in data governance, data quality management, metadata management, and master data management.
Support data migration, transformation, and integration initiatives by implementing appropriate data controls, validation mechanisms, and reconciliation processes.
Mentor and guide junior analysts and team members on data quality frameworks, tools, and best practices.
Partner with the enterprise data governance team to ensure alignment with Mastercard’s data management policies and regulatory compliance requirements.
All About You
Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Information Systems, Computer Science, Data Science, or a related field.
Strong SQL expertise with hands-on experience querying, profiling, and troubleshooting large, complex datasets.
Experience in data quality, data governance, data analysis, and implementing data quality frameworks, validation methods, and governance standards (including metadata management and Master Data Management).
Proficiency with data quality platforms such as Informatica Data Quality, Talend, Ataccama, Trillium, GEX, or similar tools.
Experience working in cloud environments (AWS, Azure, or GCP) and modern data warehousing ecosystems.
Ability to translate business requirements into scalable data quality rules, controls, and monitoring processes.
Experience designing data visualizations and analytical dashboards using tools such as Power BI, Tableau, AWS QuickSight, or similar platforms.
Hands-on experience with automation and scripting (e.g., Unix shell scripting) for data processing and operational workflows.
Familiarity with big data ecosystems, including Hadoop and distributed data processing frameworks.
Experience using observability and monitoring tools such as Splunk to support log analytics, pipeline monitoring, and system reliability.
Strong analytical thinking, problem-solving, and communication skills.

In line with Mastercard’s total compensation philosophy and assuming that the job will be performed in the US, the successful candidate will be offered a competitive base salary and may be eligible for an annual bonus or commissions depending on the role. The base salary offered may vary depending on multiple factors, including but not limited to location, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Pay Ranges
O'Fallon, Missouri: $104,000 - $177,000 USD
