Senior Analyst, Tax and Financial Planning

Position Summary

This is a full-time position which reports to the Director of Tax and Finance and will be responsible for supporting the Director in overseeing financial reporting, financial and tax forecasting, and estate planning analysis. This position will manage financial reporting of family trusts and assist with strategic planning projects. Such projects include detailed analysis to minimize estate tax exposure, financial modeling to maximize charitable funding to the Family Foundation, new investment modeling, and long-term strategic planning for the family and the BFOB. This position requires a professional with the utmost respect for confidentiality with a white glove customer-service mindset.

Role and Responsibilities

  • Support strategic planning, analysis, and forecasting for future business transactions, family trusts, estate planning entities, and the family foundation.
  • Prepare and support the development of the BFOB annual consolidated 5-year plan and 10-year plan.
  • Manage quarterly financial statement preparation and review of active trusts and estate planning entities.
  • Assist with financial and tax forecasting for the family and the BFOB.
  • Support implementation of strategic tax planning for all necessary federal and state income taxes.
  • Support facilitating tax document requests for outside tax advisors to complete income tax compliance.
  • Facilitate process of IRS income tax notices, audits, payments, and coordinating with outside tax advisors.
  • Various analysis and project work as requested by senior management in support of the family and/or the BFOB.

Qualifications and Education Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance or related field is required.
  • Advanced degree (e.g., MBA, MTx, MAcc) and/or professional certification (e.g., CPA, CFA, PFS, CFP) is a plus.
  • 4 – 6 years of progressive professional experience and knowledge in the individual and business tax and/or wealth management/personal finance sector, an emphasis on family office experience is a plus.
  • Strong accounting skills, analytical skills, critical thinking skills, research skills, financial modeling experience.
  • Strong proficiency with MS Excel, MS Office Software Suite, and Windows-based accounting systems knowledge.
  • Demonstrates aptitude for consolidated reporting, GL systems, sub-systems, and interfaces.
  • Strong understanding of financial planning and analysis, finance, accounting, budgeting, including GAAP reporting.
  • Thrives in small team environment, takes initiative with little to moderate supervision, with an optimistic attitude.
  • Excellent oral and written and communication skills, time management skills, and organizational skills.

Additional Requirements:

  • Ability to work a flexible schedule in a fast-paced work environment with a willingness on occasion to work extended hours in the evening, on the weekend, or some holidays to meet time sensitive deadlines.
  • Domestic travel may be required – travel estimated to be less than 5%.
  • Current and up-to-date Driver’s License.
