Job Title: Senior Analyst – Power BI (Development)

The Business Platforms (BP) Crew, part of Group Corporate Services (GCS), is responsible for the product management, delivery execution and business facing support of Supplier Risk, Procurement, and Property applications.
This role will work closely with the Reporting and AI squad. We work with GCS and Business Unit teams to fulfil reporting and analytics requirements associated with BP owned applications.
Impact and Contribution:
The Senior Analyst – Power BI (Development) is accountable for the design, development and ongoing maintenance of enterprise Power BI reporting solutions, including data models, dashboards and reporting assets that support decision making.
The primary accountability is Power BI semantic modelling, DAX, and dashboard build. This is not an insight’s role; hands-on development is core.
You’ll work end to end across the reporting lifecycle - designing intuitive visualisations, building scalable data models, optimising performance and ensuring data and reporting is accurate and well-governed. You’ll also champion continuous improvement by identifying opportunities to streamline reporting processes, introduce automation, and explore emerging capabilities within Power BI.
Roles & Responsibilities:
Power BI Solution Development
Design, build and own Power BI semantic models, reports and dashboards end‑to‑end, from requirements through to production release
Design scalable data models and develop complex, high-performance DAX calculations aligned to business logic
Optimise DAX calculations, data transformations, and model performance
Apply strong business acumen to translate requirements into visually appealing, intuitive dashboards that meet business needs and support decision-making
Data Integration & Governance
Ingest and transform data from various sources using Power Query and SQL, ensuring data quality and reliability
Work with data engineers to define clear data requirements that enable automated data ingestion into databases
Maintain documentation of data models, business logic, and solution architecture
Continuous Improvement
Identify opportunities to automate reporting processes using Power Automate where beneficial
Explore opportunities to leverage AI capabilities within Microsoft Fabric/Power BI ecosystem
Support change‑management by helping users transition from Excel/presentation‑based reporting to Power BI, including coaching on self‑service capability
Stakeholder Engagement & Requirements
Work with senior leaders, product owners, operational teams, and other stakeholders to translate business needs into BI solutions.
Essential Skills:
7+ years of relevant experience.
Extensive experience in dashboarding, data, and reporting, particularly within Power BI and enterprise analytics environments.
Ability to interpret complex datasets and translate them into intuitive, user-friendly visualisations.
Strong end to end delivery capability including ETL, DAX, data storytelling with interactive dashboards
Experience in maintaining maintain efficient data models and ensuring performance, data quality and consistency across Power BI artefacts
Power Automate, AI enabled reporting and analytics, or Co-pilot experience is advantageous
Experience translating business needs into BI solutions.
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills and ability to work collaboratively, as one team
Proven ability to work collaboratively with technical and business stakeholders.
Comfortable operating in a hands-on capacity, with a bias for action and delivery.
Knowledge of agile business analysis processes & techniques (i.e., User Stories, Epics, Use Cases, Business Process Mapping) using Jira, Confluence, and Microsoft applications
Prior experience within a similar role within a corporate business environment
Strong problem solving and decision-making ability
Ability to think laterally and develop new and innovative solutions to problems.
Education Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree or master’s degree in engineering in Computer Science/Information Technology.
