Are you looking to see more, do more, and achieve more? A role in Inventory Management Operations allows you to leverage your expertise by analyzing, researching, and creating solutions on a large scale to enhance Target’s ability to manage inventory.

As a Senior Inventory Analyst on the PIM Operations Team, you will provide critical day-to-day support for Target’s Core Planning & Inventory Management (PIM) teams. You will help identify and resolve replenishment issues, triage time-sensitive requests, deliver business nuanced training, and provide strategic partnership to PIM leadership to strengthen enterprise operational consistency. Your work ensures our PIM teams are empowered to make informed, agile decisions that drive reliability and support our stores, guests, and enterprise goals. 

About the Role 

In this role, you will focus on providing ongoing operational and strategic support to PIM teams while also identifying opportunities for process improvement and modernization. You will use a deep understanding of Target’s inventory systems to develop, refine, and communicate best practices that optimize replenishment execution and enable high-performing inventory management across diverse businesses and product categories. 

You will work across multiple divisions within your assigned business area—requiring strong business acumen, adaptability, and an ability to navigate varying strategies and nuances. By collaborating with cross-functional partners, you will ensure the alignment and effectiveness of key initiatives that directly impact stores, guests, and the total PIM organization. 

Key Responsibilities 

  • Provide day-to-day operational support for PIM teams, serving as a key resource for troubleshooting and guidance. 
  • Triage and resolve urgent or time-sensitive requests, ensuring timely communication and effective solutions to business-critical issues. 
  • Identify and address replenishment issues by analyzing system and performance data, developing and implementing corrective strategies. 
  • Consult with and support PIM teams on key initiatives, including seasonal planning, modernization efforts, and reliability strategies. 
  • Develop and deliver continuous training and learning opportunities to strengthen PIM team knowledge, consistency, and performance. 
  • Leverage Inventory Management system expertise to tailor replenishment and inventory strategies that align with enterprise priorities. 
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with Store Operations, Distribution Center Operations, Transportation, Data Sciences, and Product teams to execute initiatives that drive accuracy, efficiency, and guest satisfaction. 
  • Understand and navigate multiple diverse businesses within your pyramid to ensure inventory solutions meet varied needs while maintaining alignment to overall enterprise goals.

About You 

  • Four-year degree or equivalent experience 
  • 2+ years of experience in Target Supply Chain or Merchandising roles 
  • Working understanding of Target’s Inventory Management replenishment systems 
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills 
  • Strong organizational abilities 
  • Exceptional verbal and written communication skills 
  • Curious and innovative, with a continuous improvement mindset 
  • Self-starter with the ability to work independently and prioritize effectively 
  • Flexible and resilient—comfortable operating in ambiguous and fast-changing environments
  • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple priorities and meet tight deadlines in a dynamic setting 

  • This position will operate as a Hybrid/Flex for Your Day work arrangement based on Target’s needs. A Hybrid/Flex for Your Day work arrangement means the team member’s core role will need to be performed both onsite at the Target HQ MN location the role is assigned to and virtually, depending upon what your role, team and tasks require for that day.
