Senior Analyst, Pension Policy and Legal

We are looking for an experienced technical writing professional to join our Pension Policy and Legal team in Toronto as a Senior Analyst (Technical Writer) reporting to the Manager of PPL. As a member of the PPL team, you are joining a dedicated team of experts with deep pension expertise providing support and solutions with respect to plan documentation and policies, plan design, case escalations, complex plan administration matters, legal issues and broader pension initiatives.

In this role, you will play a critical part in translating complex pension administration concepts into clear, accurate, and accessible internal documentation. Your work will directly support the broader Pensions team by ensuring they have the tools, procedures, and guidance needed to deliver exceptional service to members and employers.

Job Responsibilities

  • Develop, update and refine administrative procedures through analyzing policy decisions, plan provisions and existing internal documentation

  • Create documentation for a variety of audiences with a consistent voice, a clear and engaging tone, and a solid grasp of grammar and style rules

  • Build and maintain collaborative and constructive relationships with internal partners

  • Collaborate closely with internal partners to document procedures while also translating complex technical information into clear, concise and user-friendly operational directions

  • Continuously improve documentation quality based on review/approval process and feedback received from internal partners

  • Ensure the successful completion of documentation required for projects whiling managing multiple projects and deadlines

  • Develop templates, processes and best practices for the creation and review of internal documentation

  • Support other initiatives and projects with the Pensions team, as required

Qualifications

  • University degree or equivalent experience, with 3+ years in technical writing or communications, ideally within pensions, legal, financial services, or other regulated environments.

  • Exceptional writing, editing, and proofreading skills with meticulous attention to detail.

  • Demonstrated ability to analyze business processes and recommend improvements to documentation and workflow.

  • Comfortable working independently with minimal direction, while also thriving in a collaborative team environment with competing priorities.

  • Experience working with legal and policy teams and navigating structured content approval processes.

  • Familiarity with content management systems, basic graphic design tools, and flowchart software.

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.

The expected salary range for this position is $86,000.00 - $130,000.00 per year.
