TITLE: Senior Analyst, ETRM & Position Reporting

LOCATION: Houston, TX

EMPLOYER: AES Clean Energy Services, LLC

RESPONSIBILITIES:

Support and lead Energy Trading and Risk Management (ETRM) system implementation and reporting, leveraging Allegro to manage renewable energy assets across multiple markets, including CAISO, WECC, ERCOT, PJM, MISO, SPP, NYISO, and ISONE; Analyze and report power, capacity, REC, and ancillary positions for renewable assets, collaborating with Structuring, Risk and Commercial teams to support valuation and trading strategies; Develop and maintain position reporting frameworks to quantify notional exposures, production weighted forward curves, and market risk assessments for renewable portfolios; Create analytical reports to highlight volumetric, basis, and shape risks associated with renewable assets and contracts, ensuring alignment with commercial objectives; Support reconciliation and comparative analysis of budget, forecast, and actual financial performance related to energy trading positions:  Collaborate with risk management, commercial, and trading teams to provide insights;

QUALIFICATIONS:

Job requires a Bachelor's degree in Engineering (any field) or a related field and 1 year of experience in any occupation involving energy trading, risk management, data analysis and system implementation.

Job requires 1 year of experience in each of the following:

  • Energy Market Knowledge – Understanding of ISO/RTO power markets (CAISO, ERCOT, PJM,MISO, SPP, NYISO, ISONE, WECC), including trading mechanisms and renewable energy products (Power, RECs, Capacity);
  • Data Analysis & Reporting – Proficiency in Python, SQL, Excel VBA, and BI tools (Tableau, Power BI) for data processing, market analysis, and reporting automation;
  • Financial & Risk Modeling – Ability to develop and interpret models related to forward curves, risk exposure, and asset valuation;
  • Experience in constructing pricing scalars and market simulations;
  • Portfolio & Position Reporting – Experience inbuilding structured reports to track trading positions, volumetric exposure, P&L reconciliation, and notional/block-equivalent risk analysis;
  • Forecasting & Reconciliation – Ability to perform comparative analysis of budget, forecast, and actual financial performance of trading positions;
  • ETRM Systems & Trade Capture – Experience with Energy Trading and Risk Management platforms such as Allegro, Endur, or similar systems for position tracking and reporting;
  • Regulatory & Compliance – Familiarity with FERC, ISO/RTO market rules, renewable energy contracts (PPAs, hedges), and risk management principles;
  • Commercial & Trading Support –Understanding of structured transactions, hedging strategies, and interactions between commercial, structuring, and risk teams.
