Why this Role is Important:

Reporting to the Manager - Credit, Enterprise Risk Management, the Senior Analyst will be responsible for supporting the execution of key reporting, validations, and other high-visibility risk related deliverables across our portfolio. The company is looking for a curious and self-driven individual possessing the right critical thinking, analytics, data visualization, and interpersonal skills to proactively tap into existing processes for the second line of defense and seek new opportunities to improve the existing systems.

What You'll Do:

  • Analyze data and prepare dashboards showcasing portfolio and industry trends.
  • Perform quality assurance to ensure adherence with the Bank’s credit risk policy and directives.
  • Provide support on strategic initiatives such as credit risk appetite and limit setting process, credit loss allowance assessment (i.e., IFRS9 model), and scorecard validation etc.
  • Ensure strong governance and effective controls through independent calculation and reconciliation of key risk metrics.
  • Use quantitative analysis to evaluate and monitor risk performance of credit risk strategy proposals, including but not limited to account acquisition and management.   
  • Utilize reporting BI tools to support process automations and to improve efficiency.
  • Foster relationships with internal and external partners; collaborate with other business units to ensure that enterprise risk interests are addressed in business initiatives.
  • Ensure proper documentation is maintained for compliance and audit purposes.

What You' Bring:

  • University degree in a quantitative field, Economics, Business Administration, Statistics, Mathematics, Computer Science or equivalent.
  • 3+ years working in the retail financial industry, credit risk management, data analysis / financial modeling / data mining role.
  • Fluent in Python and SQL. Familiarity with Cloud environment is a plus.
  • Intermediate understanding of credit risk management concepts and knowledge of credit scoring & risk assessment.
  • Self-starter with ability to work under pressure and tight timelines.
  • Strong interpersonal skills to work with multiple stakeholders and garner consensus.
  • Proficient in statistical analysis with knowledge of tools such as SAS.
  • Knowledge of life cycle risk systems such as TRIAD and TSYS is a plus.
  • High degree of proficiency in MS Office Applications including Excel, PowerBI, PowerPoint and VBA.
