Global Credit is a key pillar of OMERS investment strategy, providing a diversified and reliable income stream for the OMERS Plan with ~C$40B of assets under management. The Global Credit team brings together a team of credit investment specialists across sectors, geographies, and parts of the capital structure, with the objective of selecting strong risk-adjusted return investment opportunities across public and private credit markets.

The OMERS Global Credit (“OGC”) team is currently seeking a high-performing Senior Analyst (Associate / Senior Associate-equivalent) to join its Infrastructure Credit Investments team in Toronto. The Infrastructure Credit Investments team rolls up to Alternative Investments, which is the private credit platform under OGC. This role is focused on supporting new investments due diligence and monitoring existing portfolio activity within the Infrastructure Credit portfolio including, infrastructure credit GP partnerships, co-investments, and direct investments across the capital structure (i.e., OpCo, HoldCo / mezzanine, asset-backed financings, CLOs and structured credit). Our investment philosophy is centered on building a high-quality, highly diversified portfolio of sub-investment grade infrastructure private credit, supplemented with creative capitalization strategies to create robust risk-adjusted returns. Your primary duties will include analyzing, recommending, monitoring prospective and existing infrastructure credit positions and supporting portfolio-level decisions for the team. You will develop relationships internally and externally and have the opportunity to make a meaningful impact in a high performing team.

As a Senior Analyst (Associate/Senior Associate) you will be responsible for:

  • Assessing infrastructure credit investment opportunities (i.e. OpCo, HoldCo / mezzanine, asset-backed financings, CLOs and structured credit), with the objective of producing solid investment recommendations
  • Involving in commercial, technical, regulatory and other critical due diligence workstreams, producing comprehensive credit analysis and financial modeling (including creating, auditing and performing sensitivity analyses) to support investment decisions
  • Conducting in-depth due diligence and preparing investment committee memos across a plethora of infrastructure credit opportunities
  • Liaise with internal and external stakeholders on investments, financial reporting and portfolio construction
  • Assisting on financing initiatives to efficiently capitalize OMERS’ infrastructure credit portfolio
  • Assist in the day-to-day operations of investment activities and portfolio management
  • Perform portfolio monitoring activities by leveraging database software (Tableau, Power BI, and Excel)

To succeed in this role, you bring the following:

  • 3-6 Years of experience in infrastructure private debt/credit investing, power & utilities / infrastructure investment banking, or infrastructure capital markets
  • Undergraduate degree in Business, Economics, or Math from a top-tier university with demonstrated academic excellence
  • Knowledge and experience with strategies involving infrastructure direct lending / private credit
  • Demonstrated ability to navigate Microsoft Excel, including detailed infrastructure credit-related financial modelling and strong analytical skills
  • Experience working with external fund managers would be considered an asset
  • Passion for investing and ability to lead workstreams independently and within a team, helping to foster a collegial team culture
  • Strong verbal, written communication, and interpersonal skills. Desire to take initiative and collaborate directly with senior team members
  • Demonstrated experience at managing projects by collaborating with cross-departmental internal and external stakeholders
  • Ability to conduct detailed research, draw insights and convey complex ideas clearly in a well-defined timeframe while managing expectations across the team

The expected salary range for this position is $125,000-155,000 per year
