Job Description
The Sr. Agile Coach is a transformational leader responsible for fostering an Agile way of working across portfolios, products, and teams. This role creates an environment where teams can thrive by removing obstacles, improving flow, and enabling empowered, high-performing delivery. The coach promotes Agile values, principles, and practices while driving alignment with the organization’s product transformation strategy.
This leader works across silos and product portfolios to strengthen cross-team coordination, establish dependency mapping, facilitate Scrum of Scrums, and support enterprise-level road mapping. They partner closely with Product Managers to shape product roadmaps, OKRs, healthy backlogs, and customer-centric delivery practices.
This role requires a seasoned Agile practitioner capable of coaching at the team, leadership, and portfolio levels—bringing professional coaching skills, a mindset of continuous improvement, and the ability to influence culture change with clarity and urgency.
Responsibility:
· Education & Core Experience. Bachelor’s degree in computer science or related field, or equivalent practical experience. Significant Agile delivery background: 5–10+ years of hands-on experience with Agile frameworks (Scrum, Kanban, SAFe, or blended models) and end-to-end software delivery in SDLC environments.
· Agile & Product Delivery Expertise. Proven ability to operate in product-model environments: backlog management, prioritization, OKRs, MVP scoping, and cross-portfolio dependency mapping. Strong working knowledge of the software development lifecycle, including design, development, testing, deployment, and CI/CD practices.
· Coaching, Facilitation & Leadership. Demonstrated capability to coach at all levels—teams, leaders, and portfolio stakeholders—using professional-grade facilitation, mentoring, and teaching techniques. Excellent communication, leadership, time-management, and conflict-resolution skills. Ability to influence senior leadership and support organizational transformation initiatives.
· Transformation & Change Leadership. Recognized as a change catalyst who drives cultural adoption of Agile values, principles, and ways of working. Track record of improving flow, removing systemic impediments, and enabling high-performing, empowered teams.
· Data-Driven Delivery & Metrics. Skilled in using delivery metrics (e.g., OKRs, DORA, throughput, predictability) and information radiators to guide improvement and support data-informed coaching.
· Technical Fluency & Tooling. Proficiency with Agile tooling such as Jira, Confluence, Dragonboat, and increasing use of Copilot-assisted workflows. Ability to understand and communicate technical concepts sufficiently to partner effectively with engineering, compliance, and risk teams.
· Cross-Functional Collaboration. Ability to work across complex organizational structures and partner across Product, Engineering, Compliance, and Risk to align teams and delivery.
· Continuous Improvement Mindset. Demonstrated curiosity, adaptability, and ongoing investment in professional growth; models continuous-improvement behaviors.
Basic Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree, or equivalent work experience.
- Six to eight years of relevant experience.
Preferred Skills & Expertise:
· Technical & Delivery Expertise. Strong understanding of Scaled Agile frameworks, Agile values, and advanced delivery practices. Working knowledge of DevOps, including automation, CI/CD, cloud environments, and engineering best practices. Familiarity with domain-driven design, modern architecture patterns, and system design concepts. Experience with software quality practices, automated testing, and continuous integration pipelines.
· Leadership & Coaching Strengths. Experienced in leading culture change, advancing Agile adoption, and building high‑performing teams. Skilled in enterprise coaching with cross‑portfolio alignment and dependency management. Effective at facilitation, conflict resolution, negotiation, and guiding organizational transformation with senior leaders.
· Product, Planning & Metrics. Proficiency in product-aligned delivery: roadmaps, OKRs, story mapping, MVP slicing, and backlog optimization. Deep experience using metrics and information radiators (e.g., DORA, throughput, predictability) to drive transparency and improvement. Ability to streamline governance with lightweight, outcome-oriented processes.
· Collaboration & Communication. Exceptional communication skills, with the ability to translate between technical and business functions. Experience operating across complex organizational structures with Product, Engineering, Compliance, and Risk teams. Strong relationship-building skills, encouraging psychological safety and continuous learning.
· Tooling & Technology Fluency. Proficiency with Agile tools such as Jira, Confluence, Dragonboat, and increasing use of AI-assisted tools like Copilot. Ability to quickly learn and adapt to emerging technologies that support Agile delivery.
· Mindset & Professional Growth. Curious, adaptable, and committed to lifelong learning — modeling continuous improvement and experimentation. Open, collaborative communicator who fosters engagement, accountability, and team ownership.

The salary range reflects figures based on the primary location, which is listed first. The actual range for the role may differ based on the location of the role. In addition to salary, U.S. Bank offers a comprehensive benefits package, including incentive and recognition programs, equity stock purchase 401(k) contribution and pension (all benefits are subject to eligibility requirements).
