Te Whiwhinga mahi | The opportunity   

This is an opportunity to play a pivotal role in shaping how health and safety performance is understood, communicated, and improved across our organisation. You will transform complex HSW data into compelling insights through high quality reporting, process analysis, and clear recommendations that directly influence strategic decision making and safety and health outcomes. Acting as a trusted advisor, you will provide thought leadership that drives behaviour change and supports the successful delivery of key HSW initiatives.

A core focus of the role is supply chain analytics, where you will work with HSW data from across our supply partners to strengthen third party risk management and lift health and safety performance beyond our own operations.

With a strong continuous improvement and project management mindset, you will lead root cause analysis and develop practical, evidence-based solutions and frameworks that enable progress against our HSW strategy and broader organisational goals.

You will also have the opportunity to explore innovative data synergies, including people related data to identify predictive trends and proactive solutions, helping the organisation move from reactive reporting to forward looking risk prevention.

We are seeking to appoint at a salary between $110,000 - $135,000 of band commensurate to skills and experience.

Ō Pūmanawa | What we're looking for  

Our ideal candidate will have some or all of the following (but don’t worry if you don’t tick every box): 

• Extensive quantitative and qualitative analytical experience working with large data and information from multiple sources, such as People and Supply Chain, and turning raw data into valuable and relevant intelligence and insights, including developing new reports, reporting tools and frameworks and methodology.
• Experience with analytical applications such as SQL, PowerBI, SAS, Excel or similar, etc.
• Demonstrated thought leadership in utilising data and insights to identify areas of risk, propose solutions, and communicate and influence others to change behaviour.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills and a strong collaborative working style, with demonstrated ability to influence decision-making.
• Previous information experience reporting on data insights and trends including reporting using a storytelling approach and performance-related reporting, preferably in an area supporting other teams in making strategic, management and operational decisions and/or senior level decision making.
• An understanding of or demonstrated interest in Health and Safety preferred.

Qualifications:

• Tertiary qualification in a relevant discipline or equivalent experience.
• Qualification or study in a related field such as Statistics, Mathematics, Research & Evaluation, or similar may be beneficial.

You will demonstrate knowledge of, or a willingness to gain an understanding of Te Ao Māori and promote tikanga and Te Reo Māori. You will also have knowledge of, or a willingness to gain an appreciation of Te Tiriti o Waitangi (the Treaty of Waitangi) as it applies in the public sector.
