We are seeking skilled Configuration Engineers to support the expansion of Dell’s enterprise Dynamic Application Security Testing (DAST) program. This role is critical in enabling large-scale coverage across hundreds of internal and external applications by managing scan configurations, integrating with CI/CD pipelines, validating coverage, and ensuring accurate detection of security vulnerabilities. You will collaborate closely with application teams, AppSec consultants, and global stakeholders to support secure development and reduce application security risk.
You will:
Configure and optimize DAST scans across diverse applications (web, microservices, APIs) for authenticated and unauthenticated testing
Integrate Tenable WAS (and future tooling) into CI/CD pipelines to enable automated scanning workflows
Manage onboarding of new applications and working directly with app owners to define scope, credentials, and scan requirements for authenticated scanning.
Troubleshoot scanning issues, crawl detection gaps, authentication failures, and environment-level blockers
Validate findings, remove false positives where applicable, and coordinate with SDL AppSec consultants on deeper analysis
Maintain scanning infrastructure, monitor performance, and support scalability initiatives across regions.
Enhance and maintain process documentation, onboarding guides, and operational playbooks.
Contribute to building self-service onboarding and configuration tools to empower development teams
Support continuous improvement for DAST coverage, accuracy, and process automation
Solid experience in application security, DevSecOps, or security engineering roles.
Hands‑on experience configuring and managing DAST tools (e.g., Tenable WAS, AppScan, Burp Suite) and troubleshooting issues across application, security tooling, and environment layers.
Strong understanding of web application technologies and authentication mechanisms, including HTTP/S, REST/SOAP APIs, and modern auth flows such as SAML, OAuth, JWT, and MFA.
Experience integrating security tools into CI/CD pipelines (GitLab, GitHub, Azure DevOps) and familiarity with secure development practices, SDLC concepts, and vulnerability management workflows.
Strong analytical and communication skills, with the ability to collaborate across global teams, manage multiple priorities, and operate effectively in a fast‑paced environment.
Desirable Requirements
Experience with scripting languages (Python, Bash, PowerShell), use of Tenable WAS or similar tool APIs, and building self‑service tools or automation pipelines to support large‑scale security operations.
Knowledge of cloud environments (AWS, Azure, GCP), container‑based applications, web crawling, browser automation, and advanced authentication flows.
