The Boeing CompanyBoeing Commercial Airplanes (BCA) is seeking a Sr. Accounting Manager for the Northwest Accounting Policy team. This dynamic and highly visible position involves partnering with other organizations to provide accounting policy guidance, under United States Generally Accepted Accounting Principles, for a variety of significant and complex transactions. This position leads a team of accounting professionals and reports directly to the Director of Northwest Accounting Policy in Renton, WA.
This position is expected to be 100% onsite. The selected candidate will be required to work onsite one of at the listed location.
Position Responsibilities:
Analyze various transactions and identify alternative solutions on such matters including revenue recognition, program accounting, inventory (supplier) costs and new accounting pronouncements;
Communicate accounting policy decisions to executive leadership;
Primary liaison between BCA and Boeing’s internal and external auditors on key accounting matters;
Manage the Company’s accounting whitepaper process as it pertains to BCA matters;
Encourage and motivate employees to identify process improvements
Develop and strengthen specific knowledge and skills of the accounting policy teams.
The ideal candidate for this position should possess strong communication, problem solving, and project management skills.
Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):
Bachelor's Degree or higher
10+ years of accounting experience
5+ years of experience researching and applying US GAAP (Generally Accepted Accounting Principles) to solve complex accounting issues
Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):
Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, business or a related field
Work experience in industry with a Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC registrant and/or public accounting firm
Certified Public Accountant (CPA)
Experience with Big 4 accounting
Experience with Estimates of Completion (EACs)
