Senior Accounting Analyst, Revenue (EMEALA)

Cambridge, UK | Hybrid (1–2 days onsite)

Advert closing date - 27th March 2026

At Illumina, our work has a profound purpose: advancing genomics to improve human health. We’re seeking a fully qualified ACA/ACCA accountant to join our Cambridge-based Corporate Accounting team and take ownership of Revenue Recognition for Europe within the EMEALA region.

This is a hands-on individual contributor role, ideal for someone who thrives on complex contracts, values collaboration, and brings strong judgement to high‑value commercial decisions.

What you’ll do

You’ll play a critical role in ensuring accurate, compliant, and transparent revenue reporting—partnering closely with General Accounting, FP&A, and the wider business.

  • Own and apply Illumina’s Revenue Recognition Policy across the EMEALA subregion in line with ASC 606.
  • Review complex contracts and high‑value deals, advising on appropriate accounting treatment for standard and non‑standard arrangements.
  • Support monthly and quarterly close activities, including:
    • journal entries, accruals, reconciliations, and balance sheet ownership
    • quarterly delivery cut‑off and acceptance testing
  • Maintain and enhance internal control documentation and testing evidence.
  • Partner with FP&A and business finance teams on unusual deal structures and early identification of potential revenue impacts.
  • Support quarterly reviews, annual audits, and preparation of revenue‑related SEC disclosures.
  • Drive continuous improvement in processes, accuracy, and efficiency.

What we’re looking for

  • ACA or ACCA qualified (or equivalent) — qualification by experience alone cannot be considered.
  • Typically considerable experience, ideally from public practice (industry experience a plus).
  • Strong knowledge of ASC 606, revenue accounting, and contract interpretation.
  • Experience with SAP (or similar ERP) and Blackline is desirable.
  • Highly detail‑oriented, self‑directed, and comfortable managing multiple deadlines.
  • Confident communicator who enjoys partnering across Finance and the business.
  • Knowledge of US GAAP and exposure to SEC reporting.

Life sciences experience is helpful but not essential—strong accounting fundamentals matter most.

How you’ll work at Illumina

This role reflects our values every day:

  • Be Accountable for accurate revenue reporting and strong controls
  • Win Together through close partnership with FP&A and the business
  • Innovate with Purpose by improving processes and insight
  • Commit to Excellence in quality, rigour, and judgement
  • Make Customers Heroes by enabling compliant, well‑structured commercial deals
