Water Quality (‘WQ”) Platform is part of the Environmental & Applied Solutions reporting segment and is a global leader in water quality analysis and treatment, providing instrumentation and disinfection systems to help analyze and manage the quality of ultra-pure water, portable water, wastewater, groundwater, and ocean water in residential, commercial, industrial, and natural resource applications. Our water quality business provides products under a variety of brands, including Hach, Trojan Technologies, McCrometer and ChemTreat. WQ Asia has sales offices in India, Australia, New Zealand, Singapore, South Korea, Thailand, Malaysia, Indonesia, Vietnam, and the Philippines.
Hach-TH Water Quality Platform, a part of the Hach Company, is a leader in manufacturing and distributing analytical instruments and reagents used to test water quality and other liquid solutions. In response to the rapidly expanding reagent in water test business in Thailand, we are seeking a highly motivated and experienced individual to join our Water Quality Thailand Group as a Senior Accountant.
POSITION SUMMARY
The Senior Accountant is responsible for general financial accounting, analytical reporting, cost management, and oversight of accounts receivable activities to ensure accurate financial reporting and strong financial controls for ADC. This role covers end‑to‑end financial accounting, month‑end close, actual versus forecast analysis, costing, and financial performance evaluation. The Senior Accountant partners closely with the manager, business leaders and cross‑functional teams to support sound financial decision‑making and compliance.
Roles & Responsibilities include:
General Financial Accounting & Controls
Own and perform general financial accounting activities to ensure complete, accurate, and compliant financial records.
Prepare, review, and post accounting entries in accordance with accounting standards, internal policies, and group reporting requirements.
Review and maintain balance sheet and income statement accounts, ensuring proper classification and accuracy.
Perform and review general ledger account reconciliations and ensure timely resolution of discrepancies.
Support and coordinate month‑end and year‑end closing activities to deliver accurate and timely financial results.
Ensure compliance with internal controls, segregation of duties, and audit requirements.
Prepare accounting schedules, support documents, and analysis for internal and external audits.
Oversight of Accounts Receivable (AR)
Provide functional oversight and review of AR activities performed by the AR Accountant.
Review invoicing accuracy, receipts posting, AR ageing reports, and AR‑to‑GL reconciliations.
Monitor overall AR position, including overdue balances, and escalate risks and issues when required.
Ensure AR processes comply with company policies, internal controls, and audit standards.
Work with Sales, Customer Service, and Finance teams to resolve AR‑related matters and improve processes.
Financial Reporting, Analysis & Forecasting
Prepare and analyze monthly actual financial results against forecast, budget, and prior periods.
Support financial forecasting and budgeting processes by providing accurate data, assumptions, and trend analysis.
Perform variance analysis and provide clear explanations on key drivers, risks, and opportunities.
Prepare management reports and financial analysis to support business and Finance Controller review.
Costing & Margin Analysis
Perform and review product and operational costing, including standard cost and actual cost analysis.
Analyze cost variances (material, labor, overhead) and identify root causes.
Support standard cost updates, margin analysis, and profitability reviews.
Partner with Operations and Supply Chain teams to improve cost accuracy and financial transparency.
Business Support & Process Improvement
Provide financial analysis to support pricing decisions, operational initiatives, and business changes.
Proactively identify financial risks and improvement opportunities.
Improve financial accounting, reporting, and AR oversight processes to enhance efficiency, accuracy, and control.
Support ad‑hoc finance, analytical projects and other tasks as assigned by management
Requirements & Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
Minimum 5–7 years of experience in general financial accounting and financial analysis.
Strong knowledge of financial accounting, general ledger, month‑end close, and internal controls.
Proven experience in actual vs forecast reporting, variance analysis, and management reporting.
Solid understanding of costing and margin analysis.
Strong Excel and MS Office skills; ERP experience preferred.
Strong analytical mindset with high attention to detail.
Ability to review others’ work and provide clear guidance.
Able to work independently, proactively, and under pressure.
Fluent in Thai and good English communication skills (read, write, and speak).
