Summary
In line with established policies and procedures and under instructions/controls of management, to plan, organise and control general accounting operations and to control/analyse balance sheets/profit and loss accounts to ensure accuracy of accounting records and compliance with internal procedures and accounting rules. To review work performed by junior accountants.

Key Responsibilities

  • Ensure accuracy, completeness and timeliness of financial reporting of legal entities & partnering with group in line with IFRS Local GAAP
  • Ensure accurate and timely monthly and annual closings, preparing appropriate financial adj journals and reconciling your entities accounts with month end closing deadlines in compliance with Swift quality standards
  • Prepare and perform accounting analyses, reports, financial statements preparation and provide information, documentation, comments and recommendations to management and to concerned departments
  • Maintain contacts with relevant internal and external parties to answer queries, gather information and resolve pending issues. Engaging with external auditors, taking responsibility and leading during audit cycle, focusing on strong communication and relevant, adequate supporting audit documentation
  • Oversee tax filings, compliance and coordination with tax advisors (both direct and indirect taxes)
  • Improve overall accounting technical skills, prepare training plans, ensure procedures are followed and pay special attention to quality of work and improvement of it
  • Identify opportunities for process and internal control improvements and propose and/or control implementations of solutions. May also participate in and/or lead projects within the department
  • Participate in the selection of staff and manage, motivate, train and lead team members

What You Will Need

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field. A Master's degree or professional accounting qualification (e.g., CPA, ACCA, CIMA) is highly preferred
  • Minimum of 5 years of progressive experience in accounting roles, preferably within a large, international organization or a financial services environment
  • Strong understanding of International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS) and generally accepted accounting principles
  • Proficiency in financial software and enterprise resource planning (ERP) systems (e.g. SAP, Oracle)
  • Highly competent user of Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Power Point, Outlook, Financial Modelling, Power BI) and are familiar with other reporting software such as One Source and Blackline
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills with meticulous attention to detail
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively collaborate with various stakeholders across different levels
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced and deadline-driven environment
  • Fluency in English is required; knowledge of other languages is a plus
