POSITION SUMMARY: 

The Senior Accountant role will focus on delivering high-quality accounting support in areas including accruals, provisions, reconciliations, and financial reporting. The ideal candidate will possess strong technical accounting knowledge, analytical capabilities, and a proactive approach to process improvement.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES/ACCOUNTABILITIES OF THE JOB:

Month end reporting, Accruals and Amortizations:

  • Perform monthly close processes for operating accruals including sales cutoff, chargeback and markdown  provisions, interest, inventory, intercompany
  • Ensure the proper period cut-off and matching of expenses to revenues

Balance Sheet Reconciliations:

  • Perform monthly balance sheet reconciliations for assigned accounts.
  • Investigate reconciling items and coordinate timely resolution.
  • Maintain adherence to internal control standards (SOX) and PVH corporate policies.

Disclosure & Reporting

  • Related party transactions
  • Gift card disclosure
  • Assist with the preparation of quarterly and annual external reporting requirements.

Audit and Financial Reporting Support:

  • Prepare audit schedules for external and internal audits related to lease accounting, deferred revenue, loyalty programs, and other key areas.
  • Address audit requests promptly and thoroughly.
  • Support tax department with statutory filings support, audits and ad hoc requests.

  • Maintain and update allocation groups to support accurate cost distribution across departments or entities.
  • Respond to and manage special accounting requests or projects from internal stakeholders and management.
  • Stock reporting, margin analysis
  • Analytics

  • Provide guidance, mentoring, and on-the-job training to less experienced team members within the department.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:

Direct: n/a

Indirect: Assist in the review of journal entries, reconciliations, and other deliverables prepared by junior accountants or analysts to ensure accuracy and compliance.

BUDGETARY RESPONSIBILITIES:  

Support the preparation of budgets and estimates as needed.

DECISION MAKING: 

  • Prioritize tasks during month-end close to ensure critical deadlines are met without compromising quality.
  • Identify and resolve discrepancies in financial data independently, escalating complex or high-impact issues appropriately.

QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE:

Experience:                     

5-8 years of relevant accounting experience.

        

Education:                 

Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field (required).

CPA, CMA, CA or other advanced certifications preferred.

Skills:                                

Proficiency in Microsoft Excel (pivot tables, VLOOKUP, data analysis).

Knowledge of generally accepted accounting principles

Proficient in accounting systems and financial software such as SAP, Power BI, CoStar, etc.

Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
