Monks is seeking a detail-oriented and analytical Senior Accountant to join our finance team. This role is perfect for a mid-level professional who has mastered the fundamentals and is
looking to take on more complex ownership of the general ledger, financial reporting, and looking to take on more complex ownership of the general ledger, financial reporting, and
process improvements.
You’ll be joining a dynamic environment where accuracy meets agility. While we value technical proficiency, we’re also looking for a team player who can translate numbers into narratives for
our leadership.
● Month-End Close: Manage and execute the month-end, quarter-end, and year-end
closing processes, ensuring all financial deadlines are met, including recording payroll,
and intercompany.
● Financial Reporting: Prepare and review consolidated financial statements, including
balance sheets, P&L, and cash flow statements.
● Complex Reconciliations: Perform high-level account reconciliations and
investigations into variances.
● Audit Support: Coordinate with external auditors to provide necessary documentation
and ensure compliance with internal controls.
● Process Optimization: Identify and implement efficiencies in accounting workflows and
software utilization.
● Technical Accounting: Research and apply relevant accounting standards to ensure
financial integrity.
● 4–6 years of progressive accounting experience.
● Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
● Advanced proficiency in Excel (Pivot Tables, VLOOKUPs, etc.) and experience with
enterprise-level ERP systems
Not a must, but a plus:
● Previous experience in Professional Services or Advertising (familiarity with project-
based accounting or revenue recognition is a plus).
● Experience working within a mid-to-large size organization with complex structures.
● Background in a publicly traded company, including familiarity with SOX compliance and
SEC reporting requirements
● Experience with NetSuite
