Who are we hiring?

The Senior Accountant will play an integral role within the technical accounting group, supporting day-to-day processes, and participating in the monthly and quarterly book close. The Senior Accountant will provide on-going financial support for related-party transactions and be responsible for preparing journal entries and performing account reconciliations. In addition, the Senior Accountant will assist with technical accounting matters, including the research, evaluation, and documentation of current and emerging accounting issues.

What will you do?

· Prepare journal entries from a variety of source documentation, specifically associated with related party transactions.

· Assist in the preparation of monthly and quarterly related party settlements.

· Participate in the transformation of the related party settlement and journal entry process, including expanding general ledger functionality.

· Liaise with key stakeholders across related party entities.

· Assist with requests from Tax, as well as External and Internal Auditors.

· Assist in recommending and improving company-wide utilization of financial systems to enhance reporting accuracy and timeliness.

· Research, analyze and document significant technical accounting matters.

· Assist in implementing new accounting standards and pronouncements on MSGE’s financial statements and business processes.

· Complete special projects and respond to ad-hoc requests in an accurate and timely manner, as assigned.

What do you need to succeed?

· Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related discipline.

· 2+ years of public accounting experience (Big 4 preferred), or 3+ years of experience in a fast-paced, large public company environment.

· CPA license strongly preferred.

· Strong communication skills with the ability to interact effectively at all levels of the organization.

· Strong understanding of the monthly close process.

· Strong knowledge of U.S. GAAP and current and emerging accounting rules.

· Ability to work under pressure, meet deadlines, and work within a team environment.

· Ability to evaluate existing processes and recommend and implement more efficient practices and procedures.

· Strong analytical and critical thinking skills

· Experience with Oracle and excellent PC skills, including Excel and Word.

· Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment.

· Ability to adapt to shifting priorities and openness to learning new ways of working.

· Ability to embrace change with a flexible solutions-oriented mindset, even when the path forward is unclear.

· A reliable team member with the ability to collaborate effectively to achieve shared goals across teams and departments.

· Ability to build strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders

Pay Range
$75,000$100,000 USD
