Your role & Impact
As a Senior Accountant, you are the backbone of our financial integrity. This is not just a role for a number-cruncher; we are looking for a proactive owner who can translate complex data into actionable insights while ensuring our Dutch and international operations remain beyond reproach.
- Own the full month-end, quarter-end, and year-end closing processes for the entire group, ensuring the General Ledger accurately reflects the company’s financial health with high precision.
- Manage complex journal entries and account reconciliations, including intercompany accounts, and ensure the seamless reconciliation of sub-ledgers to general ledger balances.
- Own the Group consolidation and coordination, ensuring a smooth and timely closing process across all entities, including close collaboration with external accountants for the French subsidiary.
- Perform detailed Balance Sheet (BS) reconciliations and oversee payroll and wage tax journal entries, including rigorous verification of all related figures.
- Ensure full compliance with local GAAP (French and Dutch), and company accounting policies, researching technical accounting issues to maintain high standards of financial integrity.
- Support and execute year-end closing processes and external audits, providing all necessary documentation and acting as a key point of contact for auditors.
- Coordinate Tax & Treasury activities, working with external tax advisors when required to ensure accurate statutory filings and operational efficiency.
- Prepare and maintain accurate accounting operational functions, identifying and implementing process improvements to enhance reporting speed and accuracy.
What does success look like?
- Build strong and constructive working relationships within the Finance team as well as within the company, is unafraid to engage in honest and open dialog around critical internal issues and continuously looking for process improvements.
- Communicates often and shares the common goal of “getting things right” and avoiding surprises.
- Enjoys being hands-on and is happy with that as an ongoing part of the job, comfortably working both as a preparer and a reviewer. Willing to do work proactively to get the job done.
