Role Overview
As a Senior Accountant, you will play a key role in Ecolab’s global finance team, responsible for developing financial statements and reports, enabling successful month-end closure and reporting, and supporting compliance with international accounting standards. This position offers the opportunity to make an impact in a dynamic, purpose-driven organization.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage day-to-day and month-end accounting activities, including journal entries, accruals, reconciliations, tax reports, cost reporting and analysis, accounts payable review, and fixed asset maintenance.
- Prepare and maintain accurate financial records and statements in accordance with GAAP, IFRS, and company policies.
- Conduct regular financial analysis and provide insights and recommendations to senior management.
- Monitor and reconcile balance sheet accounts, ensuring accuracy and completeness.
- Prepare and review monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to develop and implement financial strategies and initiatives.
- Ensure compliance with tax laws, regulations, and reporting requirements.
- Familiarity with GCC tax reporting and filing requirements.
- Experience in treasury and cash management will be preferred.
- Identify and implement process improvements to streamline accounting procedures.
- Train and mentor junior accounting staff.
- Participate in the preparation of external financial audits and provide necessary support and documentation.
- Act as a liaison between finance and other departments to ensure accurate and timely financial information.
- Identify and mitigate financial risks.
- Provide support for ad-hoc financial projects and initiatives.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Accounting or Finance.
- Minimum of 5 years of professional experience in accounting or finance, preferably in a multinational environment.
- Certified Management Accountant (CMA), ACCA, or equivalent certification preferred.
- Strong knowledge of GAAP, IFRS, and financial reporting standards.
- Experience with large ERP systems, including iScala, SAP, Oracle, and Hyperion, and proficiency in Microsoft Excel and other financial software.
- High level of accuracy and attention to detail.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
- Ability to manage ad hoc projects and reports in addition to routine duties.
- Demonstrated ability to prioritize and deliver results within time constraints.
