Position Overview

We’re looking for a qualified accountant to own day-to-day general ledger operations and help modernize our global finance function. You’ll deliver accurate, timely closes, ensure compliance across multiple international entities, and partner closely with FP&A, Tax, and Operations. This role is hands-on, collaborative, and ideal for someone who thrives in a fast-moving, multinational environment. You’ll use automation and AI tools to streamline reconciliations, reporting, and audit support, while continuously improving close processes and mentoring junior team members.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Own day-to-day general ledger operations and deliver accurate, on-time closes, partnering with FP&A and cross-functional teams.
  • Prepare and review balance sheet reconciliations, journal entries, and financial statements with a focus on automation, consistency, and audit readiness.
  • Lead and coordinate statutory audits and filings across international entities, ensuring compliance with local regulations and deadlines.
  • Prepare or review international indirect tax filings; collaborate closely with our tax team on statutory compliance and returns outside the US and Canada
  • Build strong, trust-based relationships across the business; become the go-to partner for operations, tax, and FP&A.
  • Drive process improvement: simplify, standardize, and automate close activities to increase accuracy, efficiency, and speed.
  • Support acquisition integrations, aligning new entities to Diligent’s accounting policies, controls, and close cadence.
  • Apply an AI-first toolkit: use copilots and automation to streamline reconciliations, variance analysis, recurring journals, audit support packages, documentation drafts, and GL anomaly detection.
  • Use data fluently: leverage ERP analytics and spreadsheets to build self-serve reports and surface insights; iterate on dashboards and close checklists to continuously improve the close.
  • Mentor part qualified members of the team, providing guidance and expertise on processes and training as required.

 Required Experience/Skills:

  • Qualified Accountant (ACA/ACCA/CIMA)
  • Familiarity with multi-currency transactions
  • Experience with financial reporting and reconciliations
  • Strong attention to detail and analytical skills
  • Problem-solving abilities, particularly related to complex reconciliations
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Experience in a global finance function of a multi-location, multinational corporation
  • Working knowledge of Netsuite or a similar ERP product
  • Proven ability working cross-functionally and cross-geography with diverse groups.
  • Mindset for automation and AI; proficient with spreadsheets (formulas, pivots, lookups) and eager to pilot new tools.
