Cerence AI is seeking a detail-oriented and analytical Senior Accountant to support our global finance organization. This role is critical in ensuring accurate and timely financial reporting, with a strong focus on month-end and quarter-end close processes, accruals, payroll accounting, and cross-functional collaboration.

What You’ll Do:

  • Lead key components of the month-end and quarter-end close, including preparation and review of journal entries (commissions, payroll, fringe benefits, accruals)
  • Manage Open PO accrual process, including reporting, stakeholder coordination, and variance analysis
  • Prepare and analyze payroll-related entries across U.S. and Canada entities, including bi-weekly processing support
  • Perform account reconciliations and true-ups (vacation liabilities, commissions, Azure/vendor accruals)
  • Partner with Procurement, Payroll, and SEC Reporting teams to ensure completeness and accuracy of financial data
  • Review commissions and billing data to ensure proper accounting treatment
  • Support audit requests and contribute to process improvements and automation initiatives

What We’re Looking For:

  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance (CPA preferred)
  • 5+ years of relevant public accounting experience, ideally in a multinational or tech-driven environment
  • Strong understanding of U.S. GAAP and accrual-based accounting
  • Experience with payroll, commissions, and intercompany accounting
  • Advanced Excel skills; ERP system experience (Workday, Blackline preferred)
