This position will report directly to the Plant Controller. The position assists the Finance Team in all manufacturing and operational accounting phases, including development and maintenance of standard costs, monthly closings, financial statement preparation & review, general ledger account analysis, and forecasting and budgeting. The financial analyst generally works in an office environment but is expected to be familiar with all production operations and visit all significant company operations regularly.
Responsibilities:
Support plant leadership team on all aspects of financial analysis and costing
Develop new product costs and maintain standard costs
Analyze actual manufacturing costs and variances and prepare periodic reports comparing standard and production costs.
Review standard and actual costs for inaccuracies.
Prepare Month end journal entries, account reconciliations, analysis, and other assigned closing tasks and reporting
Assist in preparation of regular forecasts and annual budgets
Assist in the creation of new financial reports based on business needs.
Ensure internal controls are effectively maintained
Experience, Skills, Education:
A BA/BS degree in Accounting is required.
At least 3 years of experience in cost accounting in a manufacturing environment.
Proficient with the Microsoft Office suite.
Excellent verbal and non-verbal communication skills.
Strong analytical skills.
Detail-oriented.
Excellent problem-solving and decision-making ability.
Ability to organize, plan, and consistently meet deadlines
