Senior Account Manager (Venue and Team Sports Partnerships) (Payment Services Client)

***This position will be based in our Los Angeles, CA office with a priority given to candidates open to hybrid work (3 days a week in the office).***

Octagon is looking for a Senior Account Manager to join our team to lead and support major payment services client and their US Team Sport sponsorships. In this position, you’ll be responsible for managing and executing our client’s partnerships in the NFL and MLB by collaborating with Octagon’s internal client divisions, external vendors, agencies, and clients themselves. Additionally, you’ll be a key contributor across strategic operations and will develop an understanding of the client’s consumer marketing programming. Our ideal candidate will be highly organized and motivated, detail-orientedand will provide exceptional client service while collaborating effectively with peers.

WHAT YOU’LL DO 

  • ​​Act as the day-to-day contact for key clients, partners, vendors, and customers and build trust through consistent delivery and professional communication 
  • ​Oversee all aspects of partnerships, from asset management, Club/Organization communication, brand management, to on-site execution and partnership analysis  
  • ​Lead numerous projects simultaneously, managing smaller-scale turn-key event experiences and supporting large scale custom event experiences while ensuring timelines are met 
  • ​Develop in-depth knowledge of client’s sponsorship portfolio and business initiatives to align strategies with their overall goals 
  • ​Provide guidance and support to junior team members while actively collaborating with the broader team to foster a positive and productive environment  
  • ​Manage approvals of sponsorship branding and messaging onsite and in digital collateral 
  • ​Attend events while serving as a main point of contact for vendors, guests, client and partners 
  • ​Handle weekly updates and action steps across main sponsorship properties 
  • ​Learn and master the client’s asset management system, ensuring key sponsorship assets are requested, tracked, and utilized in strict compliance with established processes and protocols​

WHO WE’RE LOOKING FOR 

  • 4-6 years of work with an agency, brand, or property on integrated brand campaigns, specifically within U.S. domestic and global sports 
  • Passion and expertise in sports, CSR, entertainment, gaming, music, and/or lifestyle culture 
  • Highly organized with a strong attention to detail and ability to meet strict timelines consistently  
  • Keen sense of business process and project management, understanding how sports sponsorship, event marketing, communications, and events are used impacts the bottom line and drives brand objectives 
  • Proven experience in client service, project management, experiential activation, and creative ideation  
  • Have experience overseeing executional deliverables and program activations across multiple projects 
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with proven expertise in crafting and delivering presentations that drive action and results  
  • Demonstrated strong judgment and professionalism when interacting with team members, clients and vendors 
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (specifically PowerPoint, Excel and Word)
  • Willingness to travel domestically and work weekends/holidays to support client’s programming across client's portfolio of MLB, Music, Golf, Culinary and NFL properties as needed (20–35% travel) 

The base range for this position is $65,000 – 75,000. Where an employee or prospective employee is paid within this range will depend on, among other factors, actual ranges for current/former employees in the subject position; market considerations; budgetary considerations; tenure and standing with the company (applicable to current employees); as well as the employee’s/applicant’s background, pertinent experience, and qualifications
