The Role
We are looking for a Senior Account Handler within our Health & Care Team. This person will support their Team to deliver a comprehensive service in the administration of new business, renewal and mid-term changes – all to ensure our customers’ needs are best met through suitable cover and pricing.
What you’ll do
Regularly monitoring renewals and new business activity to aid effective planning and resourcing
Supervising the prompt and accurate production of documentation to best meet our client's needs
Responding to market and third-party queries, proposing and producing high quality market documentation that meets our team's needs
Organising your own work activities to ensure both your personal and team objectives are achieved
Work closely alongside the Account Executive to manage and service the book throughout the year, ensuring seamless coordination, timely follow‑up, and proactive support across all client and project needs.
Maintaining appropriate client files and credit control, liaising with our support technicians and IBA as and when required.
Who we’re looking for
We are ideally seeking someone with experience in Health & Care insurance, though strong candidates from other insurance backgrounds will also be considered.
Someone with a customer-focused approach, able to work independently and flexibly to achieve tight deadlines.
An analytical yet approachable standout colleague, keen to build sustainable relationships with his team and clients alike
Someone willing to learn and teach junior members of the team alike
If you're working towards or have attained ACII status, this is desirable (but not required!)
Attainment of the LLMIT (the Lloyd's and London Market Introductory Test), where relevant to the role.
A career that you define. At Howden, we value diversity – there is no one Howden type. Instead, we’re looking for individuals who share the same values as us:

We support each other in the small everyday moments and the bigger challenges
We are determined to make a positive difference at work and beyond
