As a Senior Account Executive within the Talent & Entertainment Partnerships Group you will bring cultural insights, strong industry relationships and strategic thinking to help lead the partnerships strategy and execution on brands across the agency - from CPG to Beauty to food & beverage, and beyond. You’ll be responsible for both strategic counsel and execution of talent and entertainment programming.  Your role will be to help put our clients at the forefront of the cultural zeitgeist, driving relevance and talkability via impactful partnerships across entertainment, celebrity, music and sports.

 

You are working closely with account teams and clients to recommend and negotiate entertainment partnerships that are authentic, drive toward client goals and uniquely tap into cultural conversations. You’re interested and excited by the entertainment industry, following trends and nurturing strong industry relationships to allow for seamless execution of partnership negotiations. You’re committed to going above and beyond to understand client business, and capable of managing up and down as you will support a growing team including leadership and junior staff. 

 

Who You Are:

  • An expert in:
    • Industry trends across entertainment, sports, music – a culture junkie who knows who is trending and applying that to brand partnerships, specifically as it relates to earned media appeal and breakthrough social media content 
    • Partnership negotiations and talent management, with understanding of legal/union-related implications
  • A self-driven and proactive leader, who is capable of working collaboratively with teams as well as driving individual work forward
  • Culturally savvy with a can-do, future-forward approach and attitude
  • A critical thinker who goes beyond the surface level and brings problem-resolution skills; is capable of thinking out of the box to land major partnerships deals for clients
  • Excellent communication skills; clear, vocal, articulate when presenting to clients, team and new business prospects
  • Someone who thrives in fast-moving and collaborative environment

 

What You’ll Do:

  • Dissect client business objectives/goals and craft culture strategies with support from Account Team and Talent & Entertainment Partnerships Group leadership
  • Create, sell in and manage entertainment partnerships that speak to our brand’s targets and “make noise” with synergies between PR, social media and content production
  • Lead partnership strategy, negotiations and execution from concept to completion, including:
    • Expertise in developing partnership criteria and partner recommendations; lead vetting discussions and bring strong culture-driven recommendations to clients
    • Be an expert in managing and overseeing partner negotiations and legal/union requirements such as term sheets, contracting, union payments and paperwork, payments, etc. 
    • Proficient and detail-oriented management of all partnership services, collaborating with Account Team and specialties (Creative, Influencer), as appropriate to ensure Talent and Partnership execution is seamless and all deliverables are completed as contracted
    • Strengthen relations with and bring relevant talent and sports and entertainment properties into the fold of brands on an programmatic and ad hoc basis that can drive cultural relevance for our clients
    • Day-to-day management of collaborations and partnerships
  • Be a dot connector ensuring all programming is executed with excellence and the right specialists are brought in to inform at each step of the way
  • ID the future - the trends, people, brands, technologies that are relevant and complement the clients and work we do and share strategies for how we can apply these to clients’ business/programming

 

Client Leadership:

  • Serve as day-to-day client point person on assigned accounts, managing multiple projects and deadlines, leading calls, with a strong email correspondence, etc.
  • Actively provide strategic counsel and be a trusted voice for the client
  • Build strong relationship that establishes trust with clients
  • Supervise and direct account teams on partnership-related deliverables

Program Oversight & Management

  • Ensure work output is the best it can be (of self and team members)
  • On-site management of talent and talent representatives at special events + activations (virtual and in-person)
  • Collaborate within integrated agency teams and with agency partners
  • Problem-solve quickly when issues arise
  • Demonstrate expertise in approval processes and legal requirements per individual client needs
  • Develop client SOWs, create and track budgets; understand profitability
  • Set goals and KPIs for your programs

Team Management

  • Manage a team of 1-2 junior staff who will report to multiple team leaders 
  • Be motivational and inspiring, implementing ideas that help build culture
  • Coach in real-time and provide actionable feedback and guidance to add value to teammates and the work
  • Challenger of status quo
  • A problem solver for the team – helps team find solutions
  • Collaborate with supervisors to determine staff and resource allocation against accounts based on strengths, passions and opportunity areas

 What You’ll Bring:

  • Solid foundation in entertainment partnerships; experience in media relations and influencer marketing also advantageous
  • Experience with talent negotiation and entertainment-based partnerships (sports, film/TV integrations, music licensing), contracting and activation management
  • Proven ability to lead projects, communicate effectively, think strategically and build of-the-moment and future-forward collaborations that transcend culture
  • Skilled in motivating teammates and helping them grow
  • In touch with cultural and industry trends
  • Ability to “roll with it” and be nimble when there are changes to pathways and needs to counsel on pivots
  • 5+ years of experience in the industry, with confidence in contracting and negotiations
  • Is self-directed, motivated, takes ownership of projects and follows them through to the end. Knows how to manage up to get what they need to succeed and is committed to fostering junior staff development
  • Bachelor’s Degree

  • SALARY: $71,000 - $85,000/year

(New hires are typically brought into the organization between the minimum to midpoint of the salary range posted depending on qualifications, internal equity, and the budgeted amount for the role.)

Location: Remote or in the New York office

Our Flexible Work Policy: 

We believe that our best work happens in a hybrid working environment. If you are in the NYC (or commutable surrounding distance) hub we want to see you in person 2 days a week. That could mean in our office, in our client's office, on the road with them or attending an industry event. 

For those outside the NYC hub, you will be asked to be in person too. Examples of this may include client meetings, events or team meetings. There will also be in person opportunities for you to connect with others who live in your hub to collaborate and work together.
