SEMCO - Sr. Business Process Analyst

SEMCO Energy is seeking a Senior Business Process Analyst to document, analyze, and improve core customer and billing processes. This role is ideal for a curious, analytical self-starter who enjoys understanding how work gets done and turning complexity into clear, scalable processes.

What You’ll Do

  • Document and improve business processes across billing, meter reading, payments, call center, and customer operations

  • Identify gaps and design improved workflows that support efficiency and customer experience

  • Partner with cross-functional stakeholders to understand processes and recommend improvements

  • Use customer and billing data from CIS systems to support analysis and decision-making

  • Maintain clear, up-to-date process documentation to support continuity and compliance

  • Collaborate with SEMCO Energy and Washington Gas teams to identify shared opportunities

What We’re Looking For

  • 5+ years of experience in business process analysis, operations, billing, or customer systems

  • Experience with enterprise financial or billing systems (SAP IS-Utilities, MV90, or similar preferred)

  • Strong analytical, documentation, and problem-solving skills

  • Ability to work effectively with diverse stakeholders

  • Lean Six Sigma and/or CBAP, CCBA, or equivalent business analysis certification

  • Ability to travel to our Springfield, VA office (approx. once per 2-3 months)

We offer a competitive salary range of $83,200 to $120,550 per year, commensurate with experience, education, and skills. In addition, we provide a comprehensive benefits package including health insurance, retirement plans, and paid time off.
