Job Summary: This is a public notice flyer to notify interested applicants of anticipated vacancies. Applications will not be accepted through this flyer. Major Duties:

  • You will assist and support the SSP Director of Security/Command Security Manager (CSM) in developing and implementing Security policies and guidelines.
  • You will research, analyze, interpret, and implement EOs, DoD/DON security policies and regulations to draft SPHQ and SSP Enterprise policy and business processes.
  • You will prepare reports of possible compromise of classified information and security violations.
  • You will coordinate the annual Security Education Training Awareness (SETA) programs designed to establish and maintain unit security proficiency, ensuring Command personnel are knowledgeable of all relevant INFOSEC practices and procedures.
  • You will oversee and assist with developing information security training for the command’s Branch Security Officers (BSOs).
  • You will advise and make recommendations to the SPHQ classifiers and the CSM regarding classification of SSP information and technology, and participates in meetings and on Integrated Product Teams (IPTs) to discuss policies related to Security.
  • You will collaborate with the Supervisory Physical Security Specialist in developing and implementing Physical Security policies and guidelines in keeping with DON and DOD guidance to ensure that the Physical Security Program is effective.

Qualifications: For the NH-03: Your resume must also demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the NH-02 pay band (GS-11 equivalent) in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: Assessing or identifying threats and vulnerabilities to security programs for effective implementation and ongoing improvement. For the NH-02: Your resume must also demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the NH-01 pay band (GS-04 equivalent) in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: knowledge of personnel, information, industrial, physical, and operational security programs and their methods; knowledge of access control and visitor control programs; knowledge of Sensitive Compartmented Information and the ability to self-assess programs for effectiveness. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., professional, philanthropic, religious, spiritual, community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment.
