KBR is seeking a Security Specialist / Alternate Site Security Manager to join our team in Colorado Springs, CO. Active Top-Secret Clearance with SCI eligibility is required.
The work location will be a combination of office and construction environments. The successful candidate is expected to perform duties that require the employee to sit, stand, walk climb ladders, wear safety equipment and operate standard office equipment. The candidate must have vision, speaking and hearing abilities that would enable them to be successful in the role. Responsibilities:
- Typical security related responsibilities may include enforcing and monitoring security procedures; ensure compliance with all aspects of the government and company security policies and procedures related to: physical access to buildings, room, couriers, clearances, packages, documentation and debriefings.
- Possess a high level of understanding and previous application of the ICD 705, to include, but not limited to; development of SCIF accreditation documents, intrusion detection systems, access control devices, Pre-Construction FFC, Fixed Facility Checklist, TEMPEST requirements, Construction Security Plan (CSP), SOP’s/EAP’s, Construction drawings/specifications, etc.
- Interface with program managers and maintain liaison with US Government Program Security Officers.
- Develop and implement security procedures in coordination with management personnel.
- Conduct security briefings and maintain security education programs. Investigates losses and security violations; may recommend corrective action. Maintains liaison with outside agencies and keeps upper management informed of all security activities.
- Ensures destruction of classified and company proprietary information in accordance with policies and procedures.
- Assists in revision of procedures manuals. Work performed in the area of security is performed in accordance with DCSA (Defense Counterintelligence Security Agency), NSA (National Security Agency), and/or other applicable agencies which conduct regular security audits and/or investigations.
Required Skills and Experience:
- An active Top Secret security clearance with ability to obtain TS/SCI is required.
- Completion of an undergraduate degree and 5+ years of experience (experience may be substituted in lieu of degree).
- Ability to work independently with minimal direct supervision and to flex schedule as required to meet business need.
- ICD-705 Subject Matter Expert.
- Possesses knowledge and experience with DoDM 5105.21 V1-3.
- Possesses knowledge and experience with DoDM 5205.07.
- Completed 28 hours or more of the SSM training course and relevant experience.
- Completed 40 hour or more CST course and relevant experience.
- Ability to effectively communicate with all levels of the organization, including senior leadership, site leadership, and entry-level personnel.
- Ability to surge beyond normal business hours to provide support.
- If required, become a trained/certified COMSEC Responsible Officer. Responsible for all COMSEC material on your account.
- Conceptual and critical thinking skills and the ability to present ideas in a clear and compelling manner with attention to detail.
- Provides security insight and recommendations to executive staff.
- Maintains a positive working relationship with all personnel, including internal/external customers, Security Team Members, Mission Partners, and the Business Unit.

Work Environment:
- Location: On-site
- Travel Requirements: Minimal; less than 20%
- Working Hours: Normal business operation hours
Compensation:
- For Colorado only, the salary range for this position is approximately $95,000 - $126,000. The offered rate will be based on the selected candidate’s knowledge, skills, abilities and/or experience and in consideration of internal parity.
Other Compensation:
KBR may offer bonuses, commissions, or other forms of compensation to certain job titles or levels, per internal policy or contractual designation. Additional compensation may be in the form of sign on bonus, relocation benefits, short term incentives, long term incentives, or discretionary payments for exceptional performance.
