Discovery Land Company is seeking a full-time, Security Operations Center Manager to join the Atlantic Fields Safety and Security team at its property located in Hobe Sound, FL.

Job Summary: As the Security Operations Center Manager, you will oversee the day-to-day operations of the Security Operations Center, SOC Operators, security technology systems, and critical communications systems. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in security technology, leadership, and security operations management, combined with a passion for ensuring safety and security in an upscale community setting.

Responsibilities and Duties:

• Responsible for overall management of the SOC, including personnel, technical equipment, security systems (hardware and software), maintenance of equipment, support contracts, budget analysis, ensuring processes and procedures are implemented and adhered to by SOC staff.
  • Lead and manage the SOC team, ensuring high performance, adherence to security protocols, and a focus on delivering exceptional service to members, guests, and employees.
  • Develop and enforce security policies, procedures, and best practices, ensuring team SOC Operators are trained and follow the proper protocols for incident response, surveillance operations, and system monitoring.
  • Oversee the continuous monitoring of various security systems, including video surveillance (CCTV), intrusion detection, fire alarms, access control systems, and other security technologies, ensuring proper and effective responses to any alerts or incidents.
  • Supervise the analysis of events, alerts, and real-time data to assess the severity and impact of security threats, making strategic decisions on appropriate actions.
  • Assist The Director of Security by developing Standard Operating Procedures (SOP’s), policies, procedures and best practices for the SOC Operators to utilize in the performance of their duties.
  • Oversee the management of information security, collaborating with the IT team to safeguard the privacy and confidentiality of members and guests.
  • Serves as the Fleet Manager for all club golf carts used for Security Operation
  • Oversee, manage and report on club operations technology connected to the club security systems (GPS tracking for golf carts, radios assigned to other departments ensuring equipment remains operational.
  • Enforces DLC Policy pertaining to drone usage on club property by coordinating with departmental management and ensuring security supervisors are aware and monitoring for unauthorized drone activities.
• Train SOC Operators on emergency response procedures, utilization of security and access control systems and effective use of communications systems by implementing a SOC training program.
  • Identifies focus areas for improvement amongst the SOC Staff and implements corrective actions as needed to ensure optimal performance, functionality and efficiency.
• Provides technological oversight, troubleshooting and analysis of critical security and communication systems.
  • Take immediate actions to coordinate appropriate response times for maintenance and repair of critical systems.
  • Oversee notifications to the appropriate level of management for systems malfunctions/outages and requests assistance when needed.
• Conducts Investigations – compiles information to include archived video, communications and access control data and submits written reports to the Director of Security.
  • Produces well-written factual reports for the Director of Security capturing essential information and highlighting areas of concern within the SOC Operation for action.
• Administration: Ensure proper staffing levels for a fully functional 24/7 SOC, produce schedules, oversee time and attendance, conduct performance and records management etc.
  • Ensures all SOC Staff have proper access to systems as required for the performance of official duties.
  • Responsible for the administration, aggregation, analysis and dissemination of security metrics/reports (KPIs, calls for service, of vehicles coming through gates, distance patrolled per shift, etc.)

Mandatory Skills & Qualifications:

• Minimum of 6 years of experience in security or law enforcement operations, with at least 3 years in a leadership or managerial role overseeing/leading security teams.
• Technology Proficiency: Must have familiarity with security technology software (e.g., Genetec, Milestone, Salto, HID, Motorola etc.).  Computer proficiency includes basic troubleshooting, and use of common software applications such as Microsoft Office Suite, Adobe, Smartsheet etc.
• Experience working in a SOC, Law Enforcement Control Center or similar setting, ideally security, supporting residential community environments.
• Strong Leadership and Communication Skills: Proven ability to lead a team of security professionals.

• In-depth knowledge of security operations, emergency response procedures, and safety regulations, with experience in leading teams through high-pressure situations.

Requirements for Conditions of Employment

• Ability to work a flexible schedule, including evenings, weekends, and holidays, and a shift greater than eight (8) hours in length.
• Ability to read, write, speak, and understand English; additional languages preferred.
• Undergo a limited background check for suitability
• Successfully complete technology certification courses as required (Genetec, Salto, FAA Part 107 License, SmartPTT, etc.)
