MSS Security is seeking a Security officer - Reliever for a casual role at the Federal Court in Townsville. 

Officers may be required to manage situations involving challenging behaviours in high-stress environments. This position requires a 24/7 availability, as there is no set roster.

To stand out in this role, you will bring experience in a customer-facing position, strong communication skills with the ability to de-escalate tense situations, a professional attitude and presentation, and the confidence and assertiveness to manage challenging situations effectively.

Duties include but are not limited to:

• Collaborating with court staff and law enforcement to manage high-risk situations.
• Responding quickly and appropriately to incidents involving disruptive or aggressive behaviour.
• Ensuring the safety and security of both visitors and staff within the court environment.
• Screening individuals entering the court building and ensuring compliance with all security protocols.
• Monitoring and overseeing courtroom security during hearings.

Requirements:

• Full Australian Working Rights
• Valid QLD Security License 
• Certificate II (or higher) in Security Operations
• Valid First Aid and CPR certificate (or willing to obtain)
• Blue card (or willing to obtain)
• Wiling to undergo a National Police Check
• 24/7 availability (including weekends)
