General Description of Position:

   Responsible for the security of the Ivy Tech Service Area Campus’s and parking lots. Reports to the Public Safety/Emergency Prep Lead.

Major Responsibilities:

  • Provides security of halls and buildings if non-students enter or if emergency assistance is required by students or faculty at the campus’s.
  • Provides security in the parking lot at the campus assigned.
  • Documents any incidents needing reporting and communicates with local police.
  • Delivers daily receipts from the Business Office and Bookstore to bank for deposit.
  • Performs other duties as assigned consistent with commonly accepted practices.

Education, Experience And Other Requirements:

  • High School Diploma Required.
  • Previous law enforcement or security experience required.
  • Associate Degree and/or work experience in higher education setting preferred.
