The role:
APMT MVII is located at a pivotal point for global trade and is part of APM’s logistical footprint at MVII, together with STAR Container and 2 warehouses of Maersk L&S. The complexity of the security landscape has increased over the years because of this, but also due to global developments in logistic security. The Security Manager makes sure the several security teams are managed via one security organization strategy, with focus on efficiency, cost leadership and applying the local legal requirements of security as well as APM global security standards.

Key responsibilities:

Security:

  • Driving and managing security projects

  • In-depth understanding of APMM Global Security and APM Terminals Security Requirements and driving compliance thereof;

  • Create and execute security plans following the APMT MVII security strategy;

  • Manage an aligned security organization across the Maasvlakte II concession;

  • Compliance with ISPS and AEO and other applicable regulations;

  • Create or review security risk assessments;

  • Performing security audits;

  • Contract management;

  • Acting as Port Facility Security Officer; available 24/7 in shifts;

  • Investigate incidents, data and trends.

Emergency response / Business continuity management:

  • Coordinate emergency response, business continuity and crisis management plans and exercises;

  • Acting as Emergency Coordinator 1; available 24/7 in shifts.

Dangerous goods:

  • Managing the Hazardous Cargo Team;

  • Compliance with relevant legislation and permits regarding dangerous goods.

Stakeholder management:

  • Close alignment with internal and external stakeholders, which are relevant for security matters, emergency response and dangerous goods, such as Seaport Police, Customs, Security Managers within the Port, Fire Department, VRR and DCMR.

What we are looking for

A professional with a Lean mindset – someone who identifies opportunities, analyses challenges and drives improvements. You are naturally curious, detail-oriented and not afraid to critically assess existing processes.

You:

  • Have a bachelor degree; relevant security studies or proven work experience in security management

  • Think in terms of possibilities and know how to initiate improvements

  • Experience with and or knowledge about contract management

  • Fluent in Dutch and English language

  • Have overall knowledge of ISPS, TAPA FSR and dangerous goods regulations (IMDG, ADR, RID and ADN).
