Secure Configuration Management Data Engineer - Officer

Bangalore, India Full time

Who we are looking for

We are seeking a skilled and solution-oriented Data Engineer to support the Secure Configuration Management (SCM) program. This role is ideal for someone who can work across large, complex data sets and design scalable solutions that help transform raw scan outputs, asset inventories, and configuration data into actionable insights. The ideal candidate understands both technical controls and business reporting needs, and can build pipelines and logic that improve accuracy, traceability, and compliance visibility

Why this role is important to us

Data is foundational to the success of the SCM program. As a Program Data Engineer, you will help centralize and normalize data across multiple sources – including CMDB, compliance scan tools, and platform inventories – and support the creation of dashboards, KPIs, and risk heatmaps. Your work ensures that leadership has clear, reliable visibility into compliance posture and that technical teams can act on meaningful insights. You will also partner with control owners, compliance leads, and GTS reporting teams to drive transparency, alignment, and risk-based prioritization

What you will be responsible for

Data Aggregation and Normalization:

  • Aggregate and correlate configuration scan data across platforms and tooling sources
  • Map results to correct asset records, platform types, and configuration baselines
  • Normalize naming conventions and resolve duplication/inconsistency across data sets

Pipeline Development and Engineering Support:

  • Build and maintain automated pipelines to support continuous data ingestion and reporting
  • Ensure alignment between scan results, CMDB records, and reporting frameworks
  • Partner with scanning and baseline teams to ensure data quality and consistency

Insights Generation and Reporting

  • Generate meaningful metrics around compliance status, drift, and remediation progress
  • Enable prioritization of findings via tagging, severity grouping, and ownership mapping
  • Support dashboarding and visualization of compliance posture across business units

Collaboration and Program Alignment

  • Work closely with compliance analysts, engineers, and GTS stakeholders to support reporting requirements
  • Respond to ad-hoc data requests, audit pulls, and program metric inquiries
  • Drive process improvement around data validation, asset traceability, and reporting reliability

What we value

These skills will help you succeed in this role:

  • Strong SQL, Python, or similar scripting experience for data manipulation
  • Familiarity with configuration scanning tools and asset inventory systems
  • Understanding of secure configuration and compliance programs
  • Experience building data pipelines or integrations across multiple systems
  • Ability to translate technical data into business-relevant, actionable insights
  • Proficiency in preparing reports and presentations for internal and external stakeholders, conveying data insights effectively
  • Skilled in implementing algorithms and models that facilitate data aggregation and correlation
  • Familiarity with compliance standards such as GDPR, NIST

Education & Preferred Qualifications

  • 4+ years of experience in data engineering, analytics, or infrastructure reporting roles
  • 4+ years of experience with data processing solutions such as SQL, Python, or Splunk
  • Experience working in security, compliance, or risk programs preferred
  • Familiarity with cloud or hybrid infrastructure data environments
  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Data Engineering, or a related field
