Overview

As a Sector Director within AtkinsRéalis’ Complex Projects, you will lead service delivery and market engagement across one or more of our key sectors: Power, Defence, Water, Transportation, Highways, Rail, Local Transport, or Nuclear. This is a pivotal leadership role, driving growth and profitability while aligning with our long-term vision and values. You will be responsible for maximising revenue and profitability of projects, ensuring outstanding service delivery through to market teams. The Sector Director is a key member of the Market leadership team and works in close partnership with Client Directors.

Your Role

  • Drive revenue growth for your sector, contributing to market budgeting and forecasting.
  • Coordinate cross-market and cross-division collaboration to maximise opportunities, including with the UK&I Growth Director.
  • Develop and implement plans to identify growth and cross-selling opportunities.
  • Represent AtkinsRéalis at industry events, enhancing brand visibility and market engagement.
  • Oversee profitability and financial performance across Sector P&Ls, ensuring alignment with strategic business goals.
  • Support investment decisions and resource prioritisation.
  • Monitor and drive performance across your sector, including oversight of growth performance data.
  • Provide strategic direction and oversight across markets, supporting Client Directors and prioritising key growth areas.
  • Build long-term strategic partnerships, aligning AtkinsRéalis’ services with client goals.
  • Oversee the development of sector strategies and value propositions.

  • Demonstrated leadership of large, multidisciplinary teams in complex environments.
  • Experience influencing senior stakeholders and collaborating across divisions.
  • Track record of delivering strategic outcomes and driving business performance.
  • Willingness to travel across the UK and internationally as required.

Performance Metrics

  • Financial: Revenue vs. target, EBIT vs. target.
  • Growth: Revenue growth YoY, % of revenue from new clients or sectors.
  • Client: Client satisfaction, repeat business rate, client feedback resolution time.
  • Operational: Project delivery on time/on budget, risk closure rate, compliance audit pass rate.
  • Collaboration: Practice-to-sector revenue.
